Hello. We are hoping to take my three DD next spring will be 1,
3 1/2, and 6. My oldest DD really wants to dig in the bone yard and take pictures on the safari. Is the kilimanjaro safari too bumpy for a one year old (is it better to sit that one out with her) ? And is festival of the lion king too loud or scary? Thanks.

When we first took our daughter, she was 15 months ols. She rode the Safari and atttended the Lion King Show. Nwither one frightened her or was too rough. Actually, she is 2 1/2 now and has ridden the Safari about 6 times and she falls asleep EVERY time she rides it...go figure.

same experience with the pp! DD was 13 months old when she first rode the safari ride & she fell right asleep. Definitely not "too" bumpy or jarring. Lion King isn't overly loud, so that one should be fine too.

Have a great time!

I have to admit that Animal Kingdom has been a disappointment overall for us. We have gone twice with two toddlers. Festival of the Lion King was not scary at all. The safari is bumpy, but my 1 year old didn't mind. I think he was on Dad's lap the entire time. Neither of these attractions was particularly noteworthy for us though. We all much preferred the Beauty and the Beast show at MGM, and our local zoo offers the same views of the animals.

The Boneyard was tons of fun for our oldest son. He could have stayed there for hours. The problem is it's a little hard to keep track of both kids. Go to AK at opening. For some reason it's much hotter than the other parks, and you can probably leave after a couple of hours.

My sons were 4 and 9 months when were there last October. My 4 year loves AK, he was just talking about the safari yesterday. Our baby loved the safari and the boneyard, but especially liked the Tarzan show. Actually, both of my kids like it better than the Lion King show.

I am sure your 1 year old will be fine with the attractions you mentioned.

I agree with the other posts about getting there early in the AM, as it does get especially hot!

Have a great time!

We took our DS (3 1/2) and DS (15 months) and they loved the whole park. The little one was in a sling when we had to park the stroller and it was great for peace-of-mind. He was snuggled up in it during FOTLK. He laughed, sang and clapped for the first half and then fell asleep right at the loudest part! The only thing he didn't like was the feeling of the sand at the Dig Site. It's pretty coarse, more like teeny pebbles than sand. Other than that, he was a happy camper the whole trip.

My kids liked the parade, too.
