Looking for information on a staycation at Kidani Village. Anyone have any good tips on things to do there that are still open? Thanks in advance for any help :)

You’re on the Aulani board, so you may not find your answer here 😊. But you’ll love Kidani—I think it and Aulani are very similar in feel!
ETA: DUH, looks like I was the one on the wrong board!! 🤣. Sorry, OP!!!

Yeah, not sure how I got move to Aulani... I posted in the DVC resorts. But thanks for your help :)

Sanaa restaurant is very good and a fun experience if you eat before dark to see the birds and animals outside the windows. Ask for a window seat and def check sunset time online for your vacation before you go to Sanaa so you can enjoy the wildlife while you eat dinner.

Kidani has a great shaded porch with rocking chairs where you can relax and watch the animals.

On the ground level just outside Sanaa's entrance, you can view a tortoise habitat through the glass.

All fun little perks that shouldn't be missed.

Thank you! Great tips!!

Well since I’m here....LOL Hard to know what little extras will or won’t be going, like the ranger talks. But the artwork in the halls is beautiful to walk and look at, and there are several little viewing porches you can find by wandering.

We just switched our Sept trip to Kidani. We stayed at AKL in 2007, before they added the DVC side. So we are somewhat familiar with the resort.
It's been recommended that we request a room by the Zazu elevator to be close to Jambo. But I just studied a map and would the Timon elevator be almost as good? It looks like you have to backtrack a bit from the Zazu exit to get on the walkway to Jambo, and so the Timon might not be that farther. I'll still probably ask for Zazu, but Timon would be a ok back up.

Thanks :) Let me know what you find while you are there!

Not sure when your trip is, but definitely if Jambi is back open also, you shouldn’t miss wandering around up there too. Similar things (art and overlooks) to see but on a larger scale. It’s just a beautiful resort overall. Even my Disney grump husband loved it, possibly mostly due to the fire and smell of smoked meat in the lobby 😬 Off the Jambo lobby, the little round conservatory room (not sure the exact name) has cool pics and things to look at also.

Is the community house open? Are they doing any organized activities at all this week?

We are going Oct/Nov

I’m sorry, I think my post was confusing. I meant since I’m here on this board (I meant to be on the Aulani board), not “here” at AK. I do t know what’s open there now, just trying to think of things to look at that might not require an organized activity. I’m thinking of that little round room—not sure what it’s actually called.

Even without any extra activities, AKL/AKV is an amazing place to be, and if I was going at a time when lots of “extras” were cancelled, that’d be where I’d choose! So I think all of you with upcoming stays will still have a great experience, even if it’s not the usual one.

We got moved from BWI (which is closed) to a Kidani 2br villa. So we know very little about it (we stayed at the main AKL once)

Is the grocery section of Johari well stocked? (You would think being a DVC resort that would be a priority)

How are the pool crowds compared to the main AKL pool?

How far is the walk from Kidani to Jambo house? (edit: will Jambo & AKL pool even be open then.... last week of July?)
