Hi

Can anyone tell me approximately how long it takes to do the Maharajah Jungle Trek and the Pangani Forest Exploration please? I realise people go at different paces (i'm a very slow walker!) but i'd like to have an idea of how big these areas are and how much time I should allow to see them.

Thanks :flower:

It is very difficult to say. I suppose if you just walked through at an average pace 20 minutes or so, without stopping. The trouble is you do stop and look at the animals which makes it difficult to give a time. We watched the gorillas playing in the water one pm and spent ages watching them.

What I would do, if I were you, is just hit the park early (half an hour before opening). Go straight to the safari ride, hit Kali River Rapids and then the Dinosaur ride, so you get all the rides out of the way. Then tackle the animals at your own pace.

However, if you are planning to see any of the shows you will have to time them in, in the afternoon. Perhaps do any early show, then spend time walking around the animals, followed by a late afternoon show. We are not into the shows so didn't bother with them so cannot tell you the likely times of the shows.

thanks for that! We're not too into the shows either, if we do see one it will be the Lion King.

We've seen lots on telly and online about the other parks but we really have no idea of the size of Animal Kingdom so its hard to try and figure out how much time we'll spend there. I've allocated two whole mornings (we're doing early starts each day and afternoons off by the pool!) and I just want to make sure its enough.

I have done a trip report, under wicket2005 - Day Two - 17/7/05 - this will give you an idea on how much we got done in a day. We got there half an hour before opening and left at about 4.30 pm.

Animal Kingdom is supposed to be a lot smaller than the other parks, however, there is still quite a lot of walking to be done. The car park trolley bus man said Animal Kingdom had 9 and a half miles of trails to follow. I presume some of the trails he meant are just the normal paths because the actual two trails I wouldn't say were 4 and a quarter miles but perhaps I am wrong.

If you split into two you could do the rides one day and some animals, the next do the show and the rest of the animals.

We did go back for a second time in the afternoon just to see the animals it was possible to do any rides due to the length of the lines in July. However, the gorillas were extremely active playing around with a bin in the water and beating their chests. When we went in the morning they were just lazing around so we were glad we had went at a different time of the day and saw them so active.
