Has anyone stayed at Jambo recently? I understand the hotel is closed but DVC is open. Were any of the food venues open? Was the pool pretty quiet? Thanks!

The Mara (QS) is open.

The main pool (Uzima) is open and operational, but the kiddie pool and other amenities are not open.

We have stayed at Jambo 5 times since it reopened in July, for a total of 3 weeks. In July it was really weird and quiet. Last month it was really nice, with the Mara and the Uzima Springs Pool Bar open. Pool had people, but it was not crowded. They had poolside activities for the kids. Pool and hot tubs were open until 11 pm, which was later than the previous trips.

I think that is because they are not doing any cash bookings at Jambo, only DVC owners or renters.

That totally explains it! This is really good to know, actually. I love Jambo. I had no clue I could potentially rent points and stay there prior to the resort side opening. I'm glad I followed this thread!!!

We are staying here right now and it is very quiet. I miss the bustling lobby with the sounds of Victoria Falls and Boma and I love the gift shop! I knew these amenities were closed but we figured we'd try it as part of a split stay. If you want VERY quiet and no people it is great, but for us it just feels a little sad since we frequent AKL during normal times. We have encountered other families at the pool, but we've been only ones so far as we walked to different savanna viewing areas around the resort. Simba's club house and the playground are closed. I'm bummed about the playground since I know other resorts have opened their up (we stayed at SSR in November and theirs was open). Hope this helps!

Yeah, I hear you. One of the best (perhaps the best) resort gift shops on property.

Unfortunately, it is closed, with no opening date announced. It's my wife's favorite gift shop on property. We are owners at AKV, and we always at least do a partial stay there. Visiting the gift shop is a highlight of every visit.

We stayed at Jambo last weekend - it was WONDERFUL. Mara is open with a very limited menu (VERY limited) and the pool was heaven... super quiet. As others stated, the giftshop is closet. Lobby is super quiet and it's really enjoyable to wander around and see animals.

The whole resort was super quiet and it was awesome!
