Animal Kingdom is our new favorite park

We love AK and AKV. After staying there one time we bought points there. I actually redecorated our spare bedroom into an Africa themed room. Every year when we go to AK I try to find a something unique to add to it.

I love AK. I could skip all rides except the safari which is different every time. Love flights of wonder. But my favorite is the jungle trek especially the meerkats and the apes. Last time there were three gorilla babies hanging onto mom all close to the glass and a magnificant silver back watching over his clan a few feet away. Wondrous!

We love Animal Kingdom, too! Night EMH was so pretty. Looking forward to the later closings and expansion

I'll admit that AK is our least favorite park. We've skipped it on our last 3 trips to WDW, but we're planning to check it out again during our next trip. My son doesn't really enjoy the shows, and he also doesn't like thrill/scary rides, so pretty much the only things we do are the safari, the Boneyard (which is great), and a little bit of walking around and seeing animals. Oh, and eating at Flame Tree Barbeque. But that's because of my family's quirks. I'd love to spend more time there to see the shows and ride some of the more exciting rides if I could!

We love AK, and this will be DBF's first time there, and I know he's really looking forward to it too. We have two days planned there.

Big AK fans here too. We actually added on a day at AK and at AK Lodge to a June Orlando trip where we're doing Discovery Cove and checking that out because we just don't want to miss it and the nighttime attractions and atmosphere.

We adore AK. It's not a zoo of course...but it's better than any zoo I've been to anyway. We love the theming, the ambiance, the rides and shows and FOOOOOOD. Everything!

It's worth noting that "Dinoland" is not necessarily the same thing as "Dino-Rama!"
Dino-Rama! is just one area of the section of AK defined as "Dinoland."

I believe that you mean the Dino-Rama! area reminds you of the county fair.

I think most people understood what the person was saying. But thanks for the info

Great thread--thanks for posting this. We love AK too. Always have. It has a very different feel and vibe to it and is definitely more relaxing.
It's only going to get more crowded though with all the new additions.
I like it better than MK, mostly because I go to Disneyland often, and MK is a bit sad to me, with the exception of the things that aren't in Disneyland.

We use to skip Animal Kingdom or go into the park for a couple of hours. On our next trip we have 3 days planned at Animal Kingdom. Everest and Dinosaur are big draws for the kids while the atmosphere in Africa and Asia are a big draw for my husband and myself. In December we walked through Maharajah Jungle Trek for the first time and we all loved it. I know a lot of people skip Animal Kingdom thinking there is not enough to see or do. I used to think that too but not anymore. This is a park we will never skip again.

It was my sons favorite park by far. We spent two days and easily could have spent a third. With the new attractions/entertainment coming i know we'll definitely want 2-3 days there.

AK doesn't get the love that other parks get, because they are thinking it's 3 or 4 rides maybe a show and some ANIMALS...So Most people 1/2 day it or skip it altogether.....But there truly is a lot do to & see.

The good: Usually that means not AS crowded.... The bad: (Depending on time of year) This is the hottest park by far....Manageable, :scared:but very hot.
The perfect time to duck into the shows *(which are excellent) & have comforting AC...

For us we love everything about AK. From the rides, the shops, the SHOWS, the food/Restaurants, scenery, to the CM's there... We also are anxiously awaiting all the new and exciting things coming in the near future, but are not looking forward to the mass of people that will be flocking towards here....The good on that should mean that it will lighten the load at the other parks for a lil while..

Nope, it's just a zoo. Just like the zoo in your home town. You can see a zoo anywhere. Don't waste your time at Disney going to a boring old zoo to look at animals. There's absolutely nothing to do here. It's nothing more than an hour or two park. Barely a half-day park. Total waste of time. Stay away at all costs. Spread the word! Tell all your friends. Worst park there--not worth the price of admission. No rides, no shows, no entertainment, horrible food, terrible atmosphere.

(We don't want people knowing the truth and flocking to the place! Let's keep this little gem between those of us in the know! The more people who think it's just a zoo, the more people will stay away, the more my family can enjoy it!)

I love AK, I just wish my daughter shared my feelings. All she wants is MK. She does seem excited about the new nighttime activities so maybe that will change her mind.
