Have been to AK many times and for some reason it always feels Soooo much hotter in this park. Is is just us or has anyone else experienced this? Going in July and kinda worried about it. Hoping to see ROL so we will be there later in the day. (If it's open)

We went end of June/early July and honestly, didn't find it any worse. We found lots of shade, the misting fans in Maharajah were great and Kali was a nice cool off. To us, the worst place was the World Showcase in Epcot. That place was like a concrete oven without any shade.

My mom and husband said the same thing about AK. I am not sure why. There really is more shade there than at any other park. Could be that the paths are small and crowded. I don't mind it in July- but then I have a thing for heat.

Yes. AK has seemed hotter to our family as well.

Like previously mentioned, the increased vegetation makes it more humid and harder to find a good breeze.

AK always seems soo much hotter to me... Maybe it's because of all the trees... It seems more humid.

I'm surprised this topic comes up so often lol. Yes, it is hotter and no it's not just you. It feels hotter because of all the vegetation for the animals.

I won't go there during our summer trips. There is not enough AC to duck into to cool off and I am miserable.

Even though it looks neat, I was disappointed that they built that new Harambe QS area without air-conditioning.

So many people say AK is the hottest park, but I never think of it that way. There's so much more shade that it just doesn't seem as brutal to me. To me, Epcot is BY FAR the toughest of all. Just feels like pure open cement everywhere with sun beating down and no escape. Jungle versus concrete jungle?

Yea AK is usually hotter than any other park. One reason it feels hotter is because there's a lot less air conditioned buildings to escape in like you can in other parks. So you're usually just outside in the elements. Another reason is due to all the vegetation. The trees and bushes everywhere supposedly give it a rainforest effect and make it feel hotter.

Sometimes it gets brutal during the summer there.

Ill never forget when we were at AK and it felt like our faces were melting off. Weather app said the feel like temp was 108

Yes!!! I always think it's going to be cool because it seems shady but by mid-day I'm buying another outfit because I'm sweating to death. Only ever happens in this park! :confused3

Same for us. I think it's lack of A/C areas. Less bigger shopd, QS, rides including wait areas that aren't indoors. Safari and Rapids alone are two attractions no A/C anywhere. Plus Everest.

I always hear people say this and I always think it's Epcot that is the hottest park. AK has shade, MK and HS have a lot of shops back to back, so you're always getting a blast of air conditioning. EP has virtually no shade and a lot of spacing between areas - plus huge walkways. We nearly roasted there on our last trip - I have pics of my kids on a bench, turning toward the tiny fragment of shade that one tiny tree offered. We love Epcot - we don't love roasting though.

To us, Hollywood Studios always seems the hottest, although all 4 parks are brutal when we typically go (early September). I think it has to do with all the concrete and asphalt.

We enjoy Animal Kingdom the most as far as outside comfort level because there's so much tree cover. Also, DINOSAUR feels really good on a hot day.
