Animal Kingdom has a new "little" one

Donna, an elephant, gave birth last night to a 288 lb. female calf.

I'm SO jealous of any and all who will get to see this "little" one.

She's a good excuse to take another trip to the world this year (as if an excuse is needed)!

Oh, they had just confirmed her pregnancy when I was there a year ago! How exciting!! Wonder how soon we'll be able to see them.

The successful births of all these baby elephants is a wonderful testimony to how well Disney takes care of the elephants in AK (as well as the other animals).

According to the info. from Disney, mom and baby will be out with the herd in several weeks.

Amazing! It'll be another adorable baby ready to be adored by Disney fans

On Sunday when I was there (I already started planning my next trip before I even left for the most recent one! Can't believe it's over already - a week passes quicker at Disney!), a CM at the AK said it may be born anytime that day, and that there's a doctor/s with the mom 24 hours a day watching her. I asked if it was a boy or a girl, but she couldn't tell me. She's the nicest CM, gave us lots of interesting info about the AK and how much she loves her job - I bet the new baby will make it even more fun!
