Unfortunately,the exploring doesn't start until 10:00 AM.

No, but you should be able to start anywhere you find a WE station once they open. They do an opening ceremony at the station on the Discovery Island bridge, which is cute, but not necessary to participate.

The swearing in, yes, but what I'm referring to is several WE leaders + Doug and Russell rounding up as many kids as they can find and swearing in a crowd of folks from the bridge. My daughter is a huge Up fan so that was pretty fun. They then walked the participating kids to the meet and greet spot to be first in line for photo ops.
