Both my DH & I are in our 50's and we enjoyed everything,. Well :faint: except for the intense heat that is in July!!

DH and I are both in our 50's and we love this park. There's plenty to do for 50 year olds. I myself don't do the bigger rides, but DH does them all. Meaning EE and Dinosaur. I do all the rest. We also take a trip back to Camp Mickey & Minnie to see all the characters to. Go and enjoy your day.

My husband and I are in our 50's and we love it all. The only thing we skip is Dumbo and Winnie the Pooh's Playful Spot in MK, but we did stroll through it once! At the Animal Kingdom we do everything except Kali and that's because of getting wet.

What's NOT to do in AK???? You are making me feel old cause I am one year away from the big 50. DH (slightly younger) and I DO everything in AK. But I understand if you don't want to ride EE or Dinosaur (well ... kind of understand) ... anyway, there are a couple animal trails to walk ... the tree of life to explore ... BUGS LIFE! AK is such a fun place to go to ... and yet so much more to explore. Try it, you'll like it! :thumbsup2

Safari ... conservation station ... the train ... the bar ... the food ... Lion King ... Nemo Musical ... Pocahontas ... the rides ...

AK is great!!! 62 here, and the only thing for the most part I skip is Kali RR as I don't want to get drenched. I do not mind Splash Mountain wet, but don;t want Kali soaked. It is a VERY nice park.

This park is amazing and there is something there for everyone.

Animal Kingdom is a beautiful park, and worth it to go and see Festival of the Lion King alone. The scenery is wonderful on the Maharaja Jungle Trek and Pangano Forest Trail. Flights of Wonder is a great show, too. I just like strolling thru Harambe Village and taking in the ambience, and the Safari ride is also excellent. Even if you skip the safari, you'll find plenty to do at AK without having to go on a single ride!

The Lion King show is amazing. We went back a second day just to see that again. My 62 year old mother was with us and loved it. We all enjoyed the safari ride as well. AK is a beautiful place.

AMEN! ;)

I am 50 years old, and my sister (who is 49) and I went to WDW this past September and we rode all the big rides. I not planning on stopping in the near future either. It's like they stated in the news the other day; the 50's are the new 40's. Your as young as you feel, and when I am at Disney I feel like a kid again. That is what I love about WDW.

I'm almost 50 and I love this park!! The only thing I won't ride at AK is EE but my hubby rides!!

We have been to the AK with both sets of parents...who are in their late 50's, early 60's...my dad (before a knee replacement) with bad knees. We also went with my DH's grandmother and we all loved it! :cool1:
The AK has a much slower pace to it...All the greenery and walkways. It's a park that was meant to be strolled through :goodvibes
We love the Lion King and It's Tough to be a Bug...
We all went on the safari (the earlier the better...you'll see more animals) and we never miss the Flights of Wonder. I think this is an overlooked attraction! :)
Don't miss it! A day here is a relaxing day...that can be filled with attractions and shows or just enjoyed! :goodvibes
Have a great time!!!

I guess it depends on what type of things you like to do. Do you like exciting things like Roller Coaster rides? then you want Everest. If you like exciting things...try Dinosaur. If you want to just see the animals you can do the Jungle Trek or the Safari...just be warned that the Safari is a truck ride and is quite bumpy so if you have a motion problem you may just hold off on that one. There are a lot of nice things to do there like the Lion King Stage Show too! There's pretty much something for everyone so go and ENJOY! Helen

Well, I'm 48 and my son is 11 and we do everything! When you're at Disney, age is not an issue - everyone is young (or young at heart - same thing).

Animal Kingdom is our second favorite park. We're not 50 yet but can see it coming up pretty fast. We always have to see Flights of Wonder. We took my 76 year old father and my stepmother (in her 60s) to the show for their first time. My father has NO imagination, hates kids, hates crowds, generally hates everything. After the show, he gave it his highest praise "that was neat". There are lots of little paths around The Tree of Life. Most times, these aren't crowded at all. The safari, while a bit rough, is great. And the seating area at Flame Tree Barbeque down by the water is a favorite rest spot for us.

Went to AK for the first time the year I turned 50. Absolutely love it! All the things others have mentioned are great and I'm sure you'll enjoy your visit. One thing I might add - since at this age we tend to enjoy "dining experiences" - AK is actually my favorite park to chow down! For yummy counter service, Tusker House is IMHO the best and Flame Tree is pretty good too. For table service and a unique, restful atmosphere RainForest is nice. (Take a nice long lunch break here to get out of the heat for a while.) An early breakfast at Donald's gets you into the park ahead of the crowd so after eating you can grab that grandkid (if any) and drag him/her straight over to EE and beat the mob! My favorite way to end an AK day - hop on the bus to AKL for drinks and dinner at Boma. Later, you may even be able to catch a storytelling or view the animals there with night vision goggles. Believe it or not, I find a day at AK actually relaxing because we take so many "restaurant breaks." Have fun!

I believe you may have gotten that quote wrong. It's really "the 50's are the new 30's!" ;) :thumbsup2
