Animal Kingdom Evening MH

When Animal Kingdom has evening extra magic hours, do all rides stay open? We are traveling in December and I noticed they will be open for extra magic hours until 8pm one night. I would imagine the safari ride shuts down at sunset but wanted to make sure

Hi there! Yes, the safari closes at sunset, but all other rides are open, as well as the Tough to Be a Bug show and the Festival of the Lion King. AK is beautiful at night, and Expedition Everest is amazing in the dark. Enjoy!

Mickey and Minnie were together at Island Merchantile next to the DVC place going toward camp minnie-mickey

Lilo and Stitch were at the entrance to Dinoland as you come from Discovery Island

I LOVED being at AK at night!! It reminded me of going to camp as a kid

I have a question. We did Animal Kingdom EMH last April. They stayed open really late: 10:00 PM. We left a few minutes early to beat the bus-rush, but when we got back to AKL, we heard and saw orange fireworks above the treeline from our AKL balcony room. Our room was on the far back side of AKL, facing the general direction of the park. Did we leave too early and miss them? I didn't think AK would do fireworks. Were they coming from AK?

No AK doesn't do fireworks.

No AK doesn't do fireworks.

Interesting. Then where could they have been coming from that we could see them over the trees at AKL? Just curious.

Definitely no fireworks at AK - would totally freak out the animals.

I don't have my Disney map committed to memory (I know... sacrilege!) but what other park was in that general direction? I'd almost bet given that time and depending on what direction you were facing, that you were seeing some of the higher mortars from MK or maybe Epcot??

Well. I guess that must be it, although it defies logic. MK is impossibly far, and Epcot is in the other direction -- there is no way we'd see either of those from the direction our hotel room was facing. We could clearly see orange fireworks over the tree line. It'll remain a mystery, I guess!
