Animal Kingdom construction

I decided to surprise Dh with an upgrade from ASMu to AKL Savannah view.
When I called to make the switch the agent told me that there may be some (mostly outdoor) noise due to the construction. I'm a bit nervous now because we've never stayed at this resort. What construction can we expect to see/hear? I'm also wondering where in the resort the construction is going on? Does anyone have an updates on Animal Kingdom construction?

DVC is constructing the new Kidani Village next to AKL. The construction is on the Sunset savanna side of the resort (to the left when walking through the main entrance). If you have a view of the Arusha or Uzima savanna, you won't see or hear a thing.

am new to this site i just reserved 3 nights at the animal kingdom lodge $1780 magic your way package/plus dining for 2 adults 2 kids w/out the vacation insurance. is this a pretty good rate i've never priced disney anything before

I guess i had a similar question. We've booked 2 nights at AKL (so excited) but were also told about the construction. We'll have a standard view room, and i was wondering if anyone knew if there was any particular building i should ask for to 1. avoid the construction, and 2. have the best possible standard view room. Also, I'm hoping the pool isn't affected with any of their progress. Thanks for any responses!!
