How much would you prioritize spending an evening at AK? On our first trip earlier this year, we visited AK for one morning. On the trip that we're planning for March, we currently are planning to spend two mornings there, but I could try to do some rearranging of our ADRs to visit during an evening. Do you think AK is that different/special at night that I should try to do that?

Yes ! AK at night has become our must do it has a great vibe. We love riding all the rides at night it is a different feel. Closing the night out with my 10 and 8 year old riding the river rapids 4 or more times in a row watching them giggle, it is special!

I have to agree with the above posters, when we go back in June the 8 tear old is planning on going back with me until the park closes while everyone else (party of 8) goes back to AKL for sleep. She seriously want to do Pandora after dark and thinks that Everest would be as she puts it super cool in the dark.

Ok, thanks! We'll plan on it. I'm not sure my six-year-old will be up for Everest at night (he was creeped out by the Yeti in daytime last time!), but I'm sure we will all enjoy the different feel of the park at night.

All the parks have a different vibe at night and all are worth visiting. The trails at AK are closed after around 4:30 or 5 and the night safari isn't anything to write home about but the tree of life awakenings are pretty cool. Pandora at night is worth a walk through but really doesn't take but about 5 or 10 minutes.

I skipped AK for a number of years, and didn't regret it. With the addition of Pandora, the Tree of Life awakenings, the evening safari, and the street entertainment, AK is not to be missed now, and especially at night.

I'm looking forward to our AK visit in December...our Fp's are all later in the day (I had few choices) so that works for seeing things in the evening which is very different for us!

For sure, Pandora and the Tree of Life are definitely worth seeing at night. The safari around sunset is great too.

It depends on what you like at night. The love AK at night. I like to see the park in a different light. I like to see the light show on the Tree of Life. RoL was a great show, but only a one and done show for me. Pandora at night is a huge treat. Are there other things you can do at night that you may enjoy better? Maybe. There are a ton of things to do at night at WDW that the options are very long.

We just got back and did AK at night for the first time. I wasn't sure what to expect from the safari, but it ended up being one of the best we've ever had. The giraffe were extremely active and a bunch of them surrounded our safari vehicle before taking a walk on our driving path instead of in the grassy area. The entire park has a completely different feel to it, and I absolutely loved it.

My favorite nightime park, for all the reasons so many others have mentioned.

P.S.. Expedition Everest at night is absolutely one of the greatest ride experiences you will ever have at any park...anywhere!

I love Animal Kingdom at night. Now, if you could only visit either during the day, or during the night.... then day would be the way to go. But for a different experience, I wouldn't skip out on a nighttime visit.
Pandora takes on a totally different feel. The safari after dark is a cool experience, although you probably won't be able to see many animals. Tree Of Life Awakenings is worth stopping for on the way in/out.
Downside, is that you pretty much can't see any animals after sunset, besides the few you may see on the safari. So, if you would be spending less time at Animal Kingdom during the day, since you'd be there at night aswell, then you might want to skip nighttime if animals are a priority for you.

P.S. If you can be there during sunset, Definitely try to time a ride on Kilimanjaro Safari for just before sunset. I've always seen more animals before/during sunset than any other timeframe on the ride!

Does anyone know if Tree of Life Awakenings is always offered every night? We are going the first week of December and only see it offered the very first night of our trip (when we are in MK). Do you think they just haven't put it in the schedule yet?

DAK is the prettiest of the Parks at night IMHO.

Just the whole "night feel"-light fixtures, etc.:)

we usually leave AK like 3ish but since Avatar we just went and spent the whole day there, did the ROL show, and walk around pandora, it was so pretty at night, everything glowed and we love watching the projection show on tree before we leave.
