AT the petting farm in Rafiki's planet watch, what kind of animals are there? We have goats at home, so we were wondering if it was worth the time to see some thing "different"
The only thing we miss while at WDW is petting our dogs & the chance to pet the poochies!
We will just have to make a point of getting our 'pet fix' at AK's petting zoo! Jean
Not to be a downer, but it was mostly goats when we went. Maybe there was a donkey and a cow behind fences. It was kinda dusty and hot there. They did provide excellent places to wash your hands. I thought the whole area was a waste of time- I think our county fair has a better petting zoo-but my kids loved it! So I'd go again if they wanted to- even if you aren't crazy about the goats and indoor displays the train ride is kinda fun and you get to see where they keep the animals at night. If you are really short on time- this might be something I'd skip- but if you have all day or are visiting for 2 days- the kids will probably like it. Plus we got to meet Rafiki and take pictures with him inside.

I loved the goats, of course being a country girl, I think they are the sweetest pets. They provided brushes so you could brush the goats, it's a great time to slow down your pace when visiting the park.
This was the highlight at ak for my 2 year old He loved it and still talks about it!! He loved the train ride, he brushed the goats, and when we went to the conservation center, we saw and got GREAT pics with Stanley,Pocahontas, Rafikiki and the best part of it was there were NO lines!! I couldn;t believe it since we were there on Easter Sunday!!!!
I think the goats are cute as well but boy, they'll eat anything! Last time I was there, I had one of those park maps in my pocket-the goat fished it out of my pocket and ate it! I did try to retreive it but it had gulped the map down before I could do anything. I hope none of the CM's saw and I hope the goat was OK. I don't want the demise of a WDW goat on my conscience.
