Animal Kingdom after 5 pm - What's open?

Hi everyone,

We would *love* to see the AK at sunset/after dark, and I see that the park is open for its regular hours (NOT Extra Magic Hour) until 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 28.

But before we expect to see the Safari, Pangani Trail, or eat dinner, what's really open?

I am suspicious that after 6 p.m. there will be maybe one place to eat still open, if that, and all the animal attractions will be closed.

Can anyone tell me for sure what's open and what's not for these extended hours?

Thanks!

I would assume if this is the regular hours and not EMH that most everything should be open. At this time of the year, it doesn't get dark until after 8:00 and AK isn't really set up to function completely when it is dark. I don't have the list of EMH pm attractions that are open in front of me, so maybe someone else could help you. :flower:

At that time of the year, the sun won't set until after 9:00 PM. It will be like daylight hours at 8:00 at the end of May. You might want to hop over to AKL after dark one night and do the nighttime viewing they offer if you are interested in seeing the animal after dark.

They don't mess with the animals' schedules for EMH, so the animal based attractions and viewing areas ARE closed for evening EMH. They will have signs up in the park during the day at the safari and the two main trails indicating at what time you will last be allowed to enter. This past week they all closed at 5 (the normal closing time of the park). We asked and were told that they don't want to stress the animals by keeping them out an extra three hours once a week, so they just close those attractions.

Most of Dinoland is open, as it Tough to be a Bug and they usually do a Lion King show (not sure about Tarzan Rocks).
