Animal Kingdom addition/BEASTLY KINGDOM RETURNS

With current WDW management, these rumors have to be pure nonsense. They won't spend a dime on anything. Look at how DL management begged them to go with the Star Tours upgrade, only to be told no, so they partnered with Japan to make it happen in CA.

They stopped the Christmas overlay of Country Bears and cited cost.

Harry Potter opens next year and there's nothing in the pipeline. I would expect in the future the same thing we are getting now, a Stitch show that opens and closes in a few months, a new semi-parade, etc.

I'm a classic WDW fan. I loved the orginal Epcot (even though I wasn't alive when it opened) and I for one. Like the idea of the renovated Fantasyland. Walt never considered a park finished. Things are always changed, and you have to "Keep Moving Forward".

Expanding AK would be nice. For me it's a 1/2 day park. Get in, ride safari ride EE, see Mickey and I'm out.

because everyone is entitled to their own opinion. and instead of someone just giving their opinion, people disagree with you and give you their opinion. so its just argruements all over the place. we read the sources all we want, but since we are on a forum everyone is allowed to write their opinions and stick with their story even when people are sayings you're wrong.

You are certainly entitled to YOUR opinion, but I would appreciate it if you refrained from bringing Walt into this. As others stated, Walt bought the Florida land to build a city--not a theme park complx. And his own concepts were in such a raw state that upon his death in 1966, Disney executives had no idea how to proceed in Florida. Ultimately they decided to clone Disneyland as the Magic Kingdom.

"Epcot" is Walt's creation in name alone. While he had an affinity for world's fairs and was certainly a dreamer, he never designed anything that remotely resembles Epcot from either 1982 or 2009.

Walt's contribution to the entire complex we know as Walt Disney World was minimal. Sure the designers applied many of his concepts and ideas. But we will never know Walt's feelings on topics such as whether Toontown should be kept or removed, or whether Horizons is better or worse than Mission Space.

Walt's most important creation to Walt Disney World may prove to be his philosophy toward Disneyland: "“Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.”

Expansion of the existing parks and removal of the old to make way for the new is a cornerstone of that philosophy.

I sure do hope that this rumor is true. I love the idea of a thrill park in Disney, and the Beastly Kingdom would be great theming!

another rumor...I'll still wait to see if it happens before I believe it.
Heck it they throw out enough rumors, one or two will bound to be true.

BUT I would love it if they built a DisneySea's in Orlando
(or whatever it's called in Toyko).
I have always wanted to go that park.

THAT would be awesome. Just do it before Sept 2011.
(that's our last planned trip for now)

Walt DID want a Disneyland-type park in Orlando, he was going to use the revenue from that to help fund the EPCOT City plan.

Anyone who wants to know more on this subject should really visit

Also, DisneySea does indeed have a 20K leagues under the sea ride, but it is much different than the one in MK. It uses a ride system very similar to Peter Pan's flight, but you're enclosed in a submarine...it also has a few interactive elements, and it's a VERY good attraction.

The only problem I have is that any attraction that the Disney company pays for that comes from one of Tokyo's parks would never be the same, the cost cutting would probably make it much worse.

I don't know how true the rumors are about how tight WDW management is. I have read that George Lucas and his team has pressured them into Star Tours 2, with all the bells and whistles. I've also read that they were against the Fantasyland redo, but Lasseter used his growing power to influence them to make it. It could be that Lasseter is persuading them to agree to Beastly Kingdom, or whatever they're going to call it.

I would love to see AK expanded. We enjoy the atmosphere and it's our favorite park. I always thought they should put an attraction themed around Mt. Killamanjaro over in Africa. Universal can have the dueling dragons, we'd get dueling Mt's.

Listen folks, Disney is interested in only one thing now: Bringing as many bodies on to their property as will fit. They want to stuff the restaurants, pack the parks, and fill the resorts. Disney wants no part of spending any more $$$ on anything but character meet and greets. That is why a visit to WDW is now a job, and no longer the fun time it was. It's as simple as that. With the quantity of bodies that now fill WDW, there should, at the very least, be one more park by now. But Disney ain't gonna do it folks.....:sad2: And to think I hated Ei$ner. At least he made many additions to the WDW property.

To paraphase Buzz Lightyear:
"What a strange sad man...you have my pity."

What you say may be true...but I hope you don't get that little joy out of a Disney...and if you don't...that you spend your vacation dollar elsewhere. If you do not like how things are run...the best way to show it is with your wallet.

Ya' know, it's been said that the Disney company actually has their people monitoring websites like this. And if all we do is say "Oh! how wonderful Disney is" THAT is what they will go by. We MUST be critical of what Disney is doing wrong when it is warranted, otherwise, things will never get better, and Disney and it's parks will becomed wallowed in the meir of rampant commercialism, with no regard to fun and enjoyment. Back in the 80's and early to mid 90's, Disney was fun. Now, it's just work. And I will let Disney know every time I visit WDW.

if they do do the Beastly Kingdomme, I hope they include the Dragon Tower, Loch Ness Cafe, billy goat gruff bridge and Mother Goose shop

What a stupid thing to write. What sane person vacations somewhere where they consider it "work" and not "fun"?
