I CAN spend the whole day, or split it into 2 morning if I need to, but I have never been to AK, and with DD5 & DD7, do I just plan a half-day?

On a leisurely pace, how much time, not needing to see absolutely everything...?

I would definitely plan a full day to take your time and see everything. The parade is in the afternoon, so you would miss that if you did two mornings.

It can be done in a 1/2 of day, but you would have to miss something in order to do so. I would not miss the Festival of the Lion King Show it is GREAT!

We did a whole day on our first trip and we had a lot of extra time. We didn't do Dinosaur, Kali or TTBAB. But, the parade is awesome!

On our last trip, we went at about 10:00, had breakfast till 11:20 or so and then headed out, still had time to do what we wanted and see the parade.

We did the whole day. My DD is not a tike so she can withstand the whole day. I love AK and can not see me doing everything I want to do in a half day. The animals are very active first thing in the morning and the parade is in the afternoon. Lots to do in between!

We went there for the first time recently and had a great time!We stayed from opening until 3:oo.The only reason we left then was because my DD1 needed a nap.We missedTarzan Rocks,Boneyard. and the parade. My DS9,DS7, and DD6 definitely wanted more time there.Next time! :)

We spend a good full 2 days in AK. Its one of my favorite parks!!

First time we went, we spent 1/2 day. Second time, we got there at 9 am and left at 3 pm. Last time, we spent the entire day there!! Next time, we are going to spend at least 1 1/2 days there. AK is turning into our second favorite park, after MK. I would allocate a full day there, especially if you're not planning on going back anytime soon. There is so much to see, and you can do it at a leisurely pace, which is a welcome relief.

Perhaps you could hit three or four major attractions is a half day, but as far as experiencing the rich experience this park has to offer, you wouldn't even come close.

We love AK less for it's attractions than for it's overall ambiance. The theming on the walking trails is incredible. The more time you spend there, the more you will like it!

I just got back from a quick 4day trip and we only spent 1 hours in AK. I would have liked to see more but we did get on DINOSAUR, one of their major attractions. We only waited 10 minutes so we rode it twice. It depends on your interests, if you want to all the shows and rides I'd say a full day, if you want to see just the major draws, a 1/2 day is fine.

I have to agree. There is definately more to experience than the attractions alone. A full day would allow you to enjoy the park more.

We love AK and probably spend 1.5 - 2 days of our 10 days there. There is alot to experience and see. It is one of the hotter parks and the walkways are narrower than the other parks, but we thoroughly enjoy ourselves at all of the attractions!!

my feeling is that you cant even begin to do the park justice in half a day.

the themeing as already said is out of this world.. the best themeing of any of the parks..

there is so much to see and do.. its not a "ride" park.. there are fantastic shows.. some great walking trails.. the parade! (Not to be missed!), the dig site.. the safari, planet watch.. you could spend an hour just looking at the tree of life..
then you have all the attractions too..
Id allow at least a full day.. at least...
we spend about 3 days there each trip.

We did AK in about 2/3 of a day when the park was not crowded. We were able to see pretty much everything with careful planning (and very low crowds), but not a lot of time just relaxing.

At the time, our kids were younger. This year we're planning on about a full day split over two days. We may add to it depending on what the kids think of the playground, etc.

Our kids are now 5/7 also. They will have some choices to make after they have seen the parks regarding waterparks vs playgrounds vs pools vs Kidcot.

Well like everyone has said you can do it in a half a day. We went to TL in the am and then AK. One thing to remember..while people are waiting for the parade which passas by the safari, the line should be easy to get on with little or no wait. Also, don't pass up the chicken sandwich from Tusker House...Yummy...
