Animal Crossing Issues...

I've heard Tom Nook sells an upgraded silver fishing rod. Do I have to do something special to get it? Does he only sell it at certain times?

I lucked out the other day and Nookington's had two, one regular and one silver! :goodvibes

I didn't realise you could buy them - I'll keep a close eye on those bits (I tended to ignore them once I had one of everything)

Does the silver rod improve your chances or anything? I can't wait to get a gold one but I guess I'll have to wait til all the fish are in season before I can catch them all.

Thanks for the flea market advice everyone! I didn't get anyone else coming by and I wasn't sure if I should go back to the morning because I had already purchased some turnips.

The flea market seems too much like a real life garage sale to me. You are stuck waiting around at home hoping someone shows up to buy stuff, which isn't very fun. Unless you have some high dollar fish to unload you can make as much money in the same amount of time by selling the stuff to nook along with some fruit.

DF said the same thing to me... "How do you think a real business works?" Yeah yeah...

Finally ran into Pave... the confetti and music is kind of cute. He's pretty annoying. I don't have any green candy to give him because I can't time travel. Oh well... next year!

I have a couple more questions... Is there any way to keep track of how much you've donated to your town? I haven't been doing this but I am curious to see how close I am to getting the fountain.

And about the golden shovel... Is it just a matter of burying a regular shovel and then waiting a couple of days or do I have to do something special?

TIA :goodvibes

Sadly they do not give a total as to how much has been donated to the town. Nancy on this thread gave some great advice to keep a list on a piece of paper anytime any money is donated, as it does not carry over. We donated $150,000.00 a couple of weeks ago and have been giving $1000.00 here and there but writing it down since we did not keep track before what we gave. I have to think we are getting close!!!!

As for the shovel, I thought it was you had to bury a silver shovel, but could be wrong on that one.

:)

I don't believe you have to have a silver shovel to get a gold shovel. If I remember correctly, I buried a regular shovel and the next day I dug it up and had a gold shovel. You can only get a silver shovel from Resetti, so I would think that would be silly to require a silver shovel for a gold. The silver shovel is a little harder to come by.

Just remember where you buried it. When you bury it, a star appears and if you forget that is your shovel you may dig it up too soon, thinking it was a fossil or gyroid.

It is 3:00 pm in Virginia, and 51 degrees but in the AC world there must have been a major warm front come through BECAUSE ALL MY SNOW IS GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh well, I guess I will have to continue the Snowman furniture quest in December.

The green is actually very pretty and once the fruit grows the coloring will be amazing. I guess spring is on its way.

To get the golden shovel, buy another shovel and bury it for 3 days. When you dig it up on the 3rd day, it will be gold.

Ack! I've got so much Pave furniture!!! The only thing I didn't get was the flippin' Pave bed. I wasl lucky enough to get all the Snowman furniture - but I reeeeeeally wanted the Pave bed.

Anyone have an extra one? I have lots of extra Pave pieces if you'd like to trade. :teeth:

Talk to your animal first, they will say something about Festivale and having fun. Then talk to them again (maybe twice), then the animal should say hey lets play a game. He/she will give the instructions and terms, and then you can accept or decline.

Oh I did forget to mention. If you don't want your candy taken (when you lose), put it in your house. I rather pay the 500 bells than lose the candy, since Pave' only takes candy. If you leave it on the ground, ants will get all over it. Swipe the ant covered candy with your net and the ants will disappear. But of course it is up to you.

Don't know if this was mentioned, but I hid all my money/candy in letters and then picked native fruit (apples) and kept that in my pockets. If I lost a game, the animal would take the fruit, since my bells and candy were hidden.

Thats right!!! Duh! sorry about that!! :upsidedow

This is funny to me. I have a Wii and want to get this game but everything I'm reading sounds like complete gibberish to me! :rotfl: I'm sure I'll be as addicted as all of you.

Once you start playing, you will completely understand everything that is being talked about. Fair warning....this game is addictive.

So- this will come across as a lame/rudimentary question - but all I really do is fish (my wife enjoys everything else in the game).

Do you all only cast your line if you see a fish shadow? We've yet to get the rare (+10,000) fish yet. Any tricks?

You can cast your line in the water, but usually there are no dark shadows. Most will cast their line when they see the dark shadows. Otherwise you will just be standing there watching the waves. There really isn't any tricks...you just have to be patient.

Thank god Festivale is over! The confetti was fun but the music made me want to poke Pave's eye out. I gave up after getting only 2 or 3 pieces of furniture.

Hooray for spring in AC!! I love the lushness of the trees and what grass I have. The flowers look so much nice with a green backdrop and not white.

So here is my question of the day ... during Festivale there were two ducks/whatevers in the Town Hall. Pelly and someone else. The someone else was rude and totally contradicted Pelly about my environment. Pelly keeps saying that I need more greenery (which I thought meant flowers). The not-so-nice one said that I needed more TREES! What the flip?!

Yeah, I don't like Phyllis either. I usually try not to go to town hall in the evening when she is working.

From what I understand you need more flowers and trees in certain areas.

But someone please correct me on this.

Note posted on bulletin board in Kevin's town...

"Pave's body was found in a shallow grave behind the museum. The only clues were a few candy wrappers, some confetti and a broken drum."

Okay...that is just plain awesome. Poor Pave'...never saw it coming. At least he was happy, dancing, and in the middle of a sugar high when the event occurred. I wonder if there are any suspects....hmmmm.

Kevin. You are truly my hero...... pure genius.

BTW - Was his head found with his body? If not, I wonder how many bells it sold for on the AC Community forum?

New details in Pave murder Case...

" Authorities state town residents describe Pave as "demanding". Rock Paper Scissors may be to blame."
