Animal Crossing Issues...

As long as the stream of water hits the square the flower sits on, you are okay. Once I learned that you didn't have to directly hit the little bugger, it made watering soooo much easier!!!

They won't say anything to you until the next day. Any bells you donate for the rest of today will be lost, and then tomorrow Pelly will stop accepting funds and tell you they are building a fountain. Soon enough you will learn to loathe and despise Serena, the goddess of the fountain.

Okay, who wants to put a hit out on Serena....?

Interesting... because last week I donated only 400,000.00 bells all at once and the next day I was told, by Pelly, that my fountain was being built. Maybe some people have to pay 400,000 and some have to pay 500,000.

WE GOT IT!!! We went to see Pelly today and she told us we had the fountain!! We thought there would be a message on the bulletin board like there was the with bridge but then remembered that was just a reminder to go vote! It was in fact 400,000.00!!!
:goodvibes

Oh and I forgot to ask....we are in dire need of turnip help. :sad2: Our turnip price is 60 bells today. This week it did not go over 100 and we bought 106. We are a jinx for the stalk market!!!:sad1:

Thanks Lois, when we checked after 12, they went up a little bit I think they were 112 so we sold. :goodvibes

Today Matt and I are going to be chopping and planting fruit and will open our gate if anyone wants to stop by. We have been checking everyday to see if anyones gate is open and we miss it.

We should be open around 1 as we are going to 10:30 Mass then a quick trip to the food store! :)

Hey Lisa - I can turn on and boot up right now - except you guys are leaving for Mass soon.

Okay guys - don't hate us, but Ian hacked our town last night. We have grass!!!!!! And a special surprise..... You have to come see!!!

He was doing this as I was feverishly working on my stuff for today's taping session. I'll share the topic with you - a FREE visit to Walt Disney's backyard barn that he used for the train hobby that led to the wonderful railroad systems that are in every park!

Plus - I'm interviewing Jan about her experience seeing it, since she's here visiting from Canada and meeting us there (it's actually by our house). I talked her into bringing her whole family up to the North side of town for this experience. I think they are going to have a blast!!!!

Ahhh Nancy!!! You are totally teasing me!!! With two things. The upcoming show segment AND your gate opening!!! Will you still be open say around 1:00 EST?

And Im sorry....what did that mean "hacked" your town? Is everything okay???

Man, I have to get back into it. I just feel like a slouch and I'm not looking forward to the work I have to do to get going again :)

Maybe I'll muster up the energy shortly. What time does the turnip lady leave on Sunday?

I think noon, but our Wii time is 2 hours later than real time, we can leave the gate open for you if you want.

Hacking means the same as it does with any other computer program - you got in and were able to modify code for desired results. In our case - getting grass was key. The other thing we can do is change the sex of a character or even change appearance.

Ian gave me "mascara eyes" last night, instead of the "anime" eyes I had. Also we need to change Lily's character from a boy to a girl. We have another awesome change, too, that is a surprise.

I think we'll have the gate open. Even if we leave to go to the Barn at 11:30, we'll leave the gate open for folks to visit.

There is a way to get the Wii to run "homebrew" programs. One of them will take the Animal Crossing save file and copy it to the SD card. Once it is on the card, you can take it to your PC and change it. Someone wrote an AC town editor that will show you a map of your town with different colored dots for trees, flowers, buildings, etc. You can also change the layout of the river, cliffs, buildings. There is also a grass editor that will let you set a coverage value from 0 to 255 for every square. There is also a button that will simply set all squares to full grass. Once you are done, you put the save file back on the SD card, and load it back into the Wii.

That is the main reason I wanted to try editing the town. If we can just turn on grass, then we can put flowers where we want, rather than trying to cover every inch to regrow it.

Lisa - we tried to come over, but cpouldn't see you. I hsve presents for you, but we are heading out in a few minutes to go to the Barn.

I am so sorry. :guilty: We had our gate open and twice we lost connection. And it was strange because Matt and I both thought we saw something say someone was visiting. I think my husband is going to look tomorrow at work (he works for Staples) a new router for us. It is just his inventory week (he calls it something else) so he is basically working around the clock to get everything set.

We saw your gate was open a little bit ago and we came in so we could show my husband your town. Matt has not stopped talking about it. He picked a weed and stayed on the paths but he needed to show his dad your lighthouse AND windmill. And whenever you are ready for some help with flowers, please just let us know. Matt has already said they he would come over too and help. I think my kid wants to bail on wishes and move to Gusitown. I just hope that if I run into him in the City, he will remember me. :rotfl:

Now THAT is hardcore. I was pretty impressed with myself that I was able to make a printout copy of the grid of our town by taking a picture of the map, saving to the SD card and then loading the card into the PC and going to some site and uploading it. Is it pretty much the same thing doing what you did?

Ian's sitting next to me - he says he's going to make a guide with photos for you guys if you are interested. Also - FYI - you don't have to buy the Nintendo game used to get the transfer into your system. You can simply rent it once and use it to install the homebrew channel and then you never have to see Zelda again.... (unless you want to). Renting is cheaper than buying the $50 game. Of course if you know a Zelda fan, you can just borrow their disc.

We had fun with everyone today. Jan and her family are fabulous! We were also glad that several of you could come by and visit while we were out at Walt's Barn. Thanks for the notes on our Bulletin Board!

We got an orange pansy!!!!! :yay: :yay: Question about the hybrids. Do you have to plant two flowers that you are planting for the first time in order for them to crossbreed? Or can they be flowers that are already planted that we move? Also, will it be the next day or does it take a couple of days sometimes? Only because Matt planted so many flowers yesterday and we only got 1. We did not know if they had to be ones that were never planted before.

Thanks!!

Lisa - they can be any - just as long as they are consistently watered and the AC Gods are smiling.

I have had flowers sitting there forever and finally one day - a hybrid!!!! It's the same glorious excitement that real world gardeners have! :hippie:
