Animal Crossing-City Folk

...As for Pascal, don't talk to him until you have a scallop shell in your pocket. I keep one in a drawer in my house so I will always have one handy.
How do you put something in a drawer? Everything in our house is on the floor!

When you have a closet, fridge, dresser...something that opens it will allow you to store your items in it versus just leaving them on the floor. I believe you can store a total of 160 items that way (16 pages, ten spots/ page). The only bad thing is that you can have, but not use multiple storage units. For example, I have a fridge, dresser, and closet whenever I 'open' (standing in front of the item and hit A) any one of those I can see what I have stored, but I don't get seperate storage for each unit. Does that make any sense? Maybe some one else can explain it clearer...

You need to buy some sort of chest of drawers from Nook. At first I bought whatever was in there that had drawers, then I coordinated it with whatever furniture collection I was getting. But the most important thing is to get one, anyone! It will hold all the stuff you want to keep, but don't have room for in your house. Each chest has 16 drawers that hold 10 items in each drawer. (at lest that's how all of the ones I have seen are...) Right now a bunch of my drawers are filled with those silly gyroid things! UUGGHHH! :headache: But it really helps to have a place to store all your items you aren't sure you want to sell or give away. Also, I used to so put my spare stationary in there for the days that Nooks was closed to remodel so I could still write my animal friends. Hope this helps!

(We must have been posting at the same time... sorry...)

:thumbsup2 Yep, that's it! I was bummed when I bought my second chest only to find that they held the same drawers! :upsidedow

So now I wanna know....do you guys know each other? Were you the long lost middle school friends?

I don't know yet...she hasn't been on since I posted.

Hi Jenylynn.. Is she Filipino? I live about 15 miles north of Detroit. I graduated in 87. :) You can PM me if you like.

Telly

Sent you a pm.

Thanks.. got it.. :)
:confused3 Well?

TXTink -- Have you visited Brewster yet? If you go downstairs in the museum 7 days in a row, buy a cup of coffee from Brewster, and drink it while it's hot, he'll start to get friendlier. Then go stand at the end of the bar with a gyroid in your pocket and he'll offer to store them for you, thus freeing up space in your house. The other nice thing about Brewster is that he won't take duplicates, so you know when you've gotten one that you can sell or give away.

:worship: :worship: :worship: KiminChicago!!!!!!!:worship: :worship: :worship:

Thank you SO much!!!! :thumbsup2 I have been drinking that coffee for over a month now!!!! I wondered what I was doing wrong!! Someone told me to drink coffee there for a few weeks and then he would offer to hold them for me, but I had NEVER heard THIS before!! Thank you!!!! :flower3:

 oops... wait... I just got back from WDW, so I will have to start my week now. Oh well! At least I know the end is near!!

Thank you very much!

Ok I have been playing this game non stop for the past week since I bought it! I have the one on DS as well. So who wants to exchange friend codes, PM me!

OK! So, I thought I would go "try" to give Brewster my gyroids just to see if he would take them... and ... HE DID! I was afraid you had to drink the coffee 7 days "in a row" to get him to hold them for you, but it must be retroactive because he took mine! :cool1: I had 3 1/2 drawers full of them, so needless to say, I am very happy to be rid of them!

Thanks again KiminChicago!

What is the difference between the lighthouse and the windmill in terms of what they will do for your town? I have enough to give to the town fund and I'm not sure which one I want.

I've heard that the lighthouse helps attract more rare fish, but I don't know if it's true.

TXTink -- I'm glad you got the gyroid situation all sorted out. I didn't know if the 7 days in a row was the requirement, or if it would work if you went in and bought 7 cups in one day. We did it one cup a day so I knew that would work.

HAs anyone ever caught that fish that you can only catch in the snow or the rain. I have spent hours trying for this thing and no luck.

Ok - what fish are you talking about? Curious minds want to know! :)

NO! Don't dig up your coconut!!! .... It will die for sure.... :sad1: If your house is close to the shore, it might grow. :) If not, then try planting the next one you get closer to the shore.

As for Pascal, don't talk to him until you have a scallop shell in your pocket. I keep one in a drawer in my house so I will always have one handy. When I see him, I go back to my house and get the scallop and head back to talk to him. When you give him the scallop, he will give you a special furniture item in return! :)

It hasn't rained in my town yet. I got the game for Christmas, so there was just snow. Now it is Spring, but still no rain for me yet... I am sorta looking forward to it! :rolleyes1

Thanks for the tip on Pascal - I'll have to remember that next time I see him.

I wish I knew that before - I sold all mine. I got tired of holding them. Plus selling them helped me "pay off" my house (only to get another mortgage). :rotfl:

I've been playing non stop too (since Christmas when I got it!) I know I'm addicted. PM me your info and I'll add you. My info is in my signature.

So how do you know how much you've donated to the town fund? I've donated off and on.

I have a question - how do I attach a gift to one of my letters?

I appreciate all the tips!!

You also have another set of drawers at the post office. You have to have your furnature in a letter then you take it to the post office and select save mail. Since its in the letter you won't be able to see what is in each spot in the drawer. (i write it down on paper) this way you have 160 more spots on top of the dresser you have in your house.

I just started selling mine. I have way too many furnitures and walls and floorings. I know I will never use most of them. If it's not my theme, I just sell them or put them in the recycling bin for my family to pick up what they want. I also give them away to the animals through letters.

So thought it would be fun to post some info about your town. We would love to exchange codes and go visit, but a lot of times we have problem with connections and it will freeze if we have visitors or if we are out visiting.:headache:

I don't think we have exchanged codes? Send me your info if you would like to :) Mine is in my siggy.
Our native fruit is peaches, and I have just a few of the trees since they don't make as much money. We have all of the other fruit.
We have Nookingtons, fountain and Lighthouse. Let me know how it goes for you trying to get the perfect town. I am thinking of redoing my trees to make things better.
As far as our animals go, well lets just say, I haven't had the ones I would love to see ;) We have Midge (duck(, Rasher (pig), Avery(bird), Bill(duck), Victoria(horse), Friga(penguin)......oh geez I am drawing a blank on the rest. Oh that goofy dog with the scary eyes..LOL. Man, I am brain dead this morning.
