I read somewhere that the ponds actually get fish. Anyone seen some yet?
I actually caught a stringfish the other day! I was good and took it to the musem. I didn't know it was 15,000 bells!
Also, I have been getting stuff from the prize man. Do they do anything besides look cute?
And, thanks to those who have let dh visit.Thanks to you, we have a couple different kinds of fruit!

According to my guide teh fish are in the ponds,but it is seasonal. It is still winter in my town, so my fish wont't show up until the spring/summer.

I do not know how to get a code yet, I think my son said we had to make it online to do that...how do I make my Wii go online?

You should be able to get another bridge. Everyone got to vote on a location in our town, when the time came. I think there were 3 choices.
Keep trying with the coconuts. Plant one like 9 holes from the water, and see if that helps. That is what we did, and we have a bunch of trees

you need a shovel, if you don't have one yet, nook store usually sells one. also get a watering can. after you bury the coconut, water the spout. wait for a day, the spout should now be a tiny tree, if not, then the planting wasn't successful... just like what happened to my coconut. i think i planted it too close to the water. i will surely use the tip above and hope for a successful coconut tree. i think it takes a full four days for the tree to be fully grown with fruits on (only two coconuts per tree.. not like the other fruit trees).

Starting at the water of the beach, dig 9 holes straight up, and plant the coconut in the 9th hole. That has worked 80% of the time for us

I believe you have to have wireless internet? My 10 year old ds takes care of all of that! LOL I know you go to the heart in the menu when you are playing, to find your friend code, and add others.

I have gotten an apple from an animal in my town.. planted it.. and now I have 16 apple trees. I just started sending out letters to animals within my town and enclosing cherries to each one. I am hoping that I will get another fruit that I don't have yet. Too bad I messed up on planting the coconut. I hope it will wash ashore again soon. I'll update you guys about the coconut and the other fruits that I am hoping to recieve. ... and thanks so much for that great tip!

That's how I got all the different fruit in my town. It really does work! When you write your letters, be sure to type their name and the words friend friend (say friend twice in each letter) and you should get a gift from each animal when they write back. My DD told me to do that, and I get a gift from each animal 100% of the time (some gifts are shirts, some are fruit, some are items). Then, I started chopping my native fruit trees down and planting a new fruit in that trees place. That way you are pretty sure to have the tree grow. I think I only have 3 native fruit trees left in my town! It makes earning bells go much faster! The coconut trees are a bit harder, you do have to plant them close to the shore, but not in the light sandy area. I don't have that many coconut trees, maybe about 10, but they only produce 2 pieces of fruit when any other fruit tree produces 3. I figure the other trees are worth more per tree, so I only have a few planted just along the shoreline.

I have my fountain now and am working on my lighthouse!
Can't wait till the fishing tournament next weekend!

i will try your suggestion about puting their names and the words friend friend. i already sent their letters out, but i suppose it won't hurt to send them again. i told my children and bf to send letters out to every each animals every day and enclose them with fruits or whatever things they want to get rid of, this way the chances of getting a fruit that we don't have yet is greater.

I have been playing since New Years Eve, and I don't travel to other towns, DH doesn't want me to... So, I have gotten all my stuff from generating it within my own town. I have my house totally paid off, and have the flag, and have over a million bells in the bank (gee! I wish it was real $$! ). I will donate to the town to get my lighthouse soon. I guess I'm enjoying having all the bells in the bank!

I am having a good time with this game!

You have to go to the gate keepers the guy to the right and ask for your friend code. Mine is in my siggie if you want to add me just pm me your info so i can add yours. I have TONS of fruit so you can come visit me and stuff your pockets up. Sadly I won't be on till very late today. We have 2 hockey games, baseball registration, and a basketball game today.. I keep my money in the bank and make a lump sum to the city. I have made smaller donations and kept track of it on paper and the city didn't count it.. But i have read on here that others have made smaller donations and they keep track of it. So i'm not forsure. Have fun at the flea market its a blast..

If I planted trees while I was still planning on playing for a while, I would stack some shells around them to keep me from accidentally running over them. I don't know if that's an issue for you, but I seemed to trample a few of mine!

Some animals in my town are starting to talk about Valentines Day. I wish I could find candy to send!! Does anyone know if you can find/buy candy anywhere??

"coconut" - my bf found a coconut! i told him to leave it in front of my house and i will plant it. i counted nine holes from the shore and that's where i planted it. i made sure that i watered it (i'm not good at aiming the spout where the water is actually coming out and hitting the sprout). i am praying and hoping that tomorrow it will look more like a tree.

i can't wait for tomorrow to see what the animals are going to send me . hoping for a fruit!

thanks.. this is what i don't get.. the store is getting bigger and nicer, but the hours are getting cut shorter. we have nook 'n' go-7am-1am.
nookway-8am-10pm. nookington's-9am-9pm (infos from the book). i like the operating hours right now cause i can wake up early or stay up late.. but i guess it will change real soon. i really prefer for the store to stay real late. when the children are already in bed.. this is my quiet moment playing.

to upgrade to nookington's you have to spend 240,000 bells at nookway. i know we don't tally up what we bought from the store.. i just wake up one morning and tom tells us that the store will close for another renovation.
