Does anyone know if you would need your passport to go over to Anguilla when the Magic visits St Maarten, whether you go with DCL or independently? As we are UK citizens, we have to surrender our passport when we check in at Port Canaveral and don't get them back till the end of the cruise.

KEH, we went in April on the dophin exursion. It was about a 50 minute ferry ride over. I don't think we brought any documentation with us other than drivers license and key to the world card to get back on the Magic. Have fun. The beach is great there.

We also went on the dolphin encounter to Anguilla through DCL in April. Although we just needed a driver license and key to the world card, it may be different if you go independently.

Bumping this up to see if anyone knows if you would need a passport if you travel independently?

We are seriously thinking about the dolphin encounter here - was it a good experience? Are the dolphins well taken care of? I am wondering if I should just pay the extra and go to Discovery Cove in Sea World for the day instead. We will be in Orlando a few days before our cruise and I am going back and forth on whether we should go to Discovery Cove.

april riddle -- the dolphin encounter was just ok. I wasn't bowled over by it. There are 3 dolphins in the pool (and it is a pool in ever sense of the word), 3 groups of 5 rotated around the pool doing different activities for about 20 minutes. They seem like they are well taken care of. Yes, you get to touch them, play catch with them, feed them, but thats about it. Even though we haven't done Discovery Cove, we came away thinking that DC would have been a better experience for the amount of money the excursion cost. But, everyone has an opinion...others loved the excursion. Our favorite part was the beach when we were done with the dolphins. --Kris

A passport is preferred, however, US and Canadian citizens may travel with an original birth certificate and offical photo identification. Visitors are required to have a return or onward ticket.
Sorry Karen I know this is no help to you but it may help someone else. You can contact the goverment of Anguilla at Anguilla

We'll be going there on our own. I am going to contact them to have someone meet us at the ferry. Your family is welcome to join us, we'll be going to Shoal Bay Beach East.
