Angry Disney Cast Member at Carousel of Progress

Well...

:rotfl2:

I seriously do understand the frustration, I deal with stupid people on a daily basis however you just have to act far more professional than the CM was in that case.

We at least make sure no one can hear our frustration or making fun of people..

I think the CM was doing their job and just frustrated that people are so stupid that they think the rules don't apply to them. Don't they understand that they are doing this for their own safety:confused3

That is when security needs to be called and the people causing the disruption ejected from the park.

We were on the cop once with a similar situation. Every scene repeated multiple times and they kept making the announcement to stay seated. Eventually the cms started coming into the room. The third time they came in and out it got really frustrating. (they kept saying opening the doors would trigger the ride to reset, but they kept oening the doors too:confused3) We watched the end scene 5 times with a crying infant (ours). At some point they should just clear everyone out and either shut the ride down if it's the ride causing the repeats, or start with fresh guests who haven't been held hostage for an hour if it's th e guests getting up. we made a complaint and got a call from disney a week or so later. Doesn't look like anything has changed, but we haven't ridden since and we used to ride multiple times per trip.

The cast members were not overreacting. There are safe procedures for evacuation of any attraction if there is a problem that cannot be quickly resolved.

Not following CM instructions during an emergency can cause serious injuries to people.

I don't blame the cm one bit. People don't follow rules and everyone else has to suffer for it. Thank goodness I was not in the room where the idiots were refusing to follow directions because I probably would have been kicked out of the park for causing a serious disturbance. We pay too much for vacations to deal with this kind of crap.

I couldn't agree more. I hope the disruptive people and the people who left were escorted OUT of the park. :headache:

I think the offenders should have been removed so that everyone else could watch the show in peace. I'm at WDW right now and today some ******* decided to stand up on Rock 'n Rollercoaster (don't ask me how, but thats what the R'nRC CM inside the attraction told us. That's why they had to shut it down. I joke with my wife that I'd like to have the authority to hit people in the head with a shovel anytime something like this happens.

Lol, funny video! The first comment is even funnier. :rotfl2: I don't think it was a CM fail at all, his only fault is that he was TOO patient.

I don't blame the CM at all. When this attraction was at Disneyland, the CM (from what I understand) stood up and lost her life because of this (I think it was around 1975).

I hate when people don't follow the safety rules, and especially when they have to be asked several times, causing others to have to deal with their being inconsiderate.

I can understand the CM's frustration. He shouldn't have had to ask over and over again. Paying for a ticket does not mean you get to ignore safety rules.

Classless, disrespectful parents raising classless, disrespectful children.

Either I'm getting older, or it's getting worse year by year.

Oh, wait - It's both. :sad1:

Is it my imagination, or wasn't there a cast member inside each theater at one time? If there would have been a live cast member, this may not have happened.

My son and I were in it and someone reset it. It was not a fun time for anyone. The scenes did not match the sound track. You can't get me anywhere near COP ever again.

I was all prepared to take the CM's side, but...that CM was losing it. If he cannot handle the stress of working at the CoP, he should find another, less stressful job. I honestly think anyone who gets that personally worked up needs therapy.

They better never give this guy the "Stay to the right, please!" job the CMs do with their little sticks after fireworks. Those people have trouble when people don't go the direction they're asking them to. This guy would have a heart attack and die.

Although I do wish people would sit down and not get up to leave, it happens. And honestly, if my CoP had been interrupted that much, I'd have given up and left, too. Who wants to sit there listening to some nut with a microphone lose control and spaz out?

You have to remain calm in this situations unfortunately. I do feel the CM shouldn't have done that even though I can sympathize with his frustration.:sad2: Chances are this CM got fired.

Being a CM is tough sometimes. Especially when guest ignore things that are done for their own safety or they come up and yell at you because of Brazilian tourists or because things cost so much. You have to smile and take it but that's the way it is with most jobs.:headache:

COP is tough because people decide to ignore the remain seating rule and the ride restarts. I've been on it when two guests decided to leave and the ride restarts. I think that it shouldn't do this since it is punishing the ones who love the ride and are regarding the rules. Maybe there is some way to reset it and allow CM's to escort guests off.

I've also seen guest attempt to do this in the HM during the stretching room and it cut the show short.

You have to remember that safety comes first. This is a ride where the seat sections are continually moving and not what you see on the stages. Someone trying to leave could be injured. I think the CM got frustrated; but he was doing his job. He is not able to go in either because of the safety issue. I am not sure if explaining the danger is allowed but maybe doing that might have gotten the rude guests causing the problem to sit back down.
Maybe the ride needs a last minute spiel saying how long the ride is and that you will not be allowed out of your seat during the whole ride. If you can't do that then you have 2 minutes to exit before the ride begins. Then if anyone gets up to leave-conveniently have security outside the building to help them find the exit of the park.
