Angels & their wonderful men...a new thread for a new year!!!

I think we need to get this under control right now. First its Dale, then Shania, then Tim, then Faith and on and on and before you know it we have sunk to new lows by posting pictures of the likes of Paris Hilton :hyper:

We all know the ladies have no chance of winning a game like that because there are far more beautiful women in the world then there are attactive men (go ahead and try to argue against that one!)

Heck, that is true just on this thread alone (he said as he tried to remain in good graces). :smooth:

So just SETTLE DOWN everyone....

:duck:

...whoa a slice of pepperoni just flew by....

Okay, who missed me??
It's been a pretty busy couple of days here. Instead of the usually Lou-recap of the day....I'm going to give you all the "Stephanie-recap of my week"

Let's see....where to begin:

report cards came out this week, Patrick missed HIGH honors by a "C" in GYM....when I called the gym teacher (yeah, I think we all know I am THAT mother) he said Patrick got a C because he missed 3 gym classes and didn't make them up. UHHHHH, well, nobody ever told us about making up GYM CLASS!!!! So....Neil and I have spent that last 3 days *****ing about the school system, and trying to decide what we're going to do. This is the 3rd incident in 3 months that has left us scratching our heads. The concept of No Child Left Behind falls squarely on the parents here in our school district. I know....I know.....we're talking about GYM class.....but I have to tell you all that Patrick was devastated...he was a crying mess.....and Patrick is NOT a crier....sigh...it's not easy being a mom.

Today...I spent two hours this morning at my parents' house while the fireplace guy installed the new blower in the fireplace. While I was gone, someone came into my house. How do I know this??? Funny you should ask.....there were wet footprints on the new kitchen floor....PLUS....the toilet seat was UP!!!!!!!! Stop laughing.....I've called all the likely culprits...my DB, my DF, my DH....nobody was here....so I figure in case I go upstairs tonight and find that all of my underwear is missing, I better call the police department. So...I call the local PD, and as luck would have it the Chief himself answers. I relay my story, tell him I'm sure it's someone we know, who happened to be in the area, but I just wanted to put it on record in case anything DID come of it....his response...."Well, if it were me hun, I would have left a note...AND put the seat down!!!" gotta love living in a small town.
Guess we now need to lock our doors...that's just not going to be good for me and my midnight tequilla driven escapades to the neighbors house (*makes mental note to copy MORE house keys*)

Hmmmmm...what else??? Nothing much other than I'm still trying to figure out how the rat/squirrel got into my house...but more importantly WHY he/she picked my house. Why is it we always assume rats are male????

Yeah, that's a topic for another day.

So, in closing, for your viewing pleasure, I've added a new picture of Jr. and a new feature to my signature for your enjoyment....a little aside I like to call "Jr. Says:" Now I know MOST of you totally won't get this, but for those of you that do.....there's nothing like listening to JR on the radio when he's racing......pure enjoyment!!!!

Oh yeah, thanks Lou for planting the fondue virgin thread in my mind..guess what we're having for dinner??????

Guess that's all for now from the snowy north. How's that for good use of white space Lou?? Gotta give me a bit of a break, I'm a designer...I LIKE WHITE SPACE!!!!!

I'm sorry Steph did you say something (yawn) :faint:

If that happens then my guess would be Alan......

:p

Steph,

These your neighbors and chief?

And I am sorry about your son and the gym class! The teacher should have told him if he had work that he needed to make up.

Hi all, popping in here quickly... upgrading my Virus software and then Luis and I will be heading out to our IMAX theatre to see ROTK

Steph, I am sorry about the gym class stuff and I would feel very uncomfortable knowing that someone would have walked into my house like that!!! Oh and I like that pic of yours!

Looks like I missed the food fight :p

I'll be back later tonight :)

I am confused, how do you make up gym class? Hard to play team sports by yourself????????????

Don't get me started on un/under funded federal mandates.

Steph~I'm sorry about Patrick's C:( Matthew would have been freaking out too........I'm glad that you're the type of parents that are involved & care about ther kids education.
Locking the door might be necessary~I would never leave here without locking my door. Better safe than sorry.
& I like JR's quote~:D

Excellent job of sucking up Lou! :tilt:

**LK tosses a pie at Lars' head and dashes out the door.....**

Now beware...this gentleman belongs to the yaya women....but he's available for consultation...and wanted to tell Lou

Steph, I'm sorry about the C. My DS would have been upset, too. Of course Amy would say, "It's only a grade. Who will care what I got in gym 20 years from now?" :teeth: In a way she has a point, but don't tell her I said that. And lock your doors! That would scare the you-know-what out of me!

Boy you all have been talkative today.

Carolyn, hope you are feeling better after the medicine reaction.

Steph, too bad about the C. I am one of those parents too. Is there anything he can do about it now?

Too much else to catch up on. I must have missed several different pictures of Junior. Apparently we are becoming a country music thread. And some of you are becoming potty mouths. Plus I missed a food fight.

Andrew and I made it to Annapolis. The drive was not fun but we got there and home safely. I was afraid we would be late but we weren't. Unfortunately, Jack did not go. Could not leave the porcelin god for that long. I was amazed at how confident and business like Sarah was when she met us and took us to the delegates lounge and then introduced us to delegates. I am afraid she isn't my little girl anymore. She had a great time and is looking forward to going back in 6 weeks.

Hi Carol and Steph

Hmmmm....dinner at Lone Star or going to see ROTK in an IMAX theatre...I don't know which to be more jealous over!

Louie, Louie, Louie, Lou-ie-ie....united we stand, divided we are toast my brother :teeth:

For the record, I find nothing interesting about empty women's underware....and definitely for the record, if I see women's underware that is NOT empty, they will most assuredly be on Mrs. AA!

And now that we have that cleared up I just want to let Steph know that she has lovely curtains in the bathroom...

Hi Alan.

I finally got my turn on the computer tonight and no one was around.

Evening all... back from the movie... just as good as the 1st time I saw it :teeth:

I'm wearing this stupid wrist stabilizer and it is hard to type on my laptop with it...

LOL Kristy, I think you can leave that guy anywhere... I prefer my cabana man over him

Carol, I am glad you made it back from Annapolis today and that Sarah enjoyed it! I hope Jack feels better soon!

Alan, you're more jealous of me ;)

Hey a woman can try right? :p

Hi Merry, LK, Lars & Marsha :wave2:

It doesn't get much better than this!
Just spent 3+ hours mopping up the basement - again! The water is (still) coming in one of my sunken windows. There's a well outside that keeps filling with rain and then oozing down my basement wall. The water traveled much farther this time and we've had to throw away some damaged stuff. Nothing of great importance yet did I really want to clean out my basement at this hour? :(

We need to do some work around the outside of the window but we'll need to wait for daylight and for the ground to dry up a bit. I'm thinking this is going to be a continuing problem for a while.

Gail, I hope you are able to do something today to fix that water problem, or at least lessen the impact a little bit.

Stephanie, that would make me mad, too, about that C. Poor Patrick, to work so hard at making High Honors only to see that stop it. :( I don't blame you one bit for calling the school.

Woke up today to a fresh coating of snow everywhere. Leah has basketball this afternoon. After that, they are going to Grandma's house. This is the annual Piratefest weekend, and both SB and I are working collecting the money from the games. DH, his DS, her DH, and their neighbor (got that?) are working the dart game the entire weekend. They love this weekend - I can't stand it! I'd rather stay at home.

Carol, Sarah sounds like she has a fantastic future in front of her! Too bad Jack couldn't make it. I'm glad you and Andrew were able to travel safely.

Gail - so sorry about the water. So much for dry wells, eh? Hope you get it fixed soon.

No time to really catch up but here is a link in honor of our own Yepod:

John, look familiar?

Good morning all.

Marsha, you bad girl with your Derry air.

I have a link too. DD got this from one of her message boards. It is a fun way to waste even more time.
Guess the character

Jack is feeling better this morning but weak. Hopefully he didn't share and no one else will get it.

LK and SB, have fun at Piratefest. This weekend is the Orioles fanfest too.

Gail, good luck damming, or damning, your flood.

Off to find some breakfast and to wash all of Sarah's clothes she brought home.

LOL, Carol - somebody had a LOT of time on their hands to set up that game!!!
