Good morning. I'm sleepy this morning. Just stopping by to say hi. I'll check back later when my brain wakes up.

I went back to bed. I got woken up at 9:15, Pete calling, he left his work ID in his pants from yesterday.

Now it's snowing. How can that be, it's supposed to be 38 degrees?!!!!

Guess I need coffee, and the dogs probably need to go out, again.

Thanks Bethany, that's about what he wants, he says it's for the underwriter, well underwrite this!

I think you guys are making me feel much better about our loan for the house... we were told upfront what we needed to provide and nothing else was changed or needed. Once we were told we were approved, all I worried about was the exact cost of closing... wanted to make sure we had more than enough for that downpayment (hardest check I've ever had to write out as well... so many numbers ;))

Marsha, I hope you can get some sleep!

Everyone with bad weather headed your way, stay safe!

:wave2:

I pretty much felt like I had been through the ringer when I finally signed the papers. But once it was done, it had been worth it.

Just got home from Sam's monthly school conference. He is high-functioning autistic and has an IEP in place, so I get monthly status conferences.
Anyway, I went in woth both barrells balzing, his OT has been slacking. She was not happy with me, but I have been making waves and am trying to make her switch his OT days since Monday seems to be a bad choice because of holidays, filed trips, etc. The school principal even came to this one, she was not too thrilled to see him. Her boss (the special ed coordinator) was supposed to be there too, but she couldnt make it. Anyway, I think I won this battle, she is going to switch him to another day.
Sam has the best teacher and teacher's aide, so they were backing me 100%. It felt great to walk out of there with a victory.

Bethany - good for you about your son, and it's great that you have the support of the teachers.

Marsha - enjoy the higher temps 'cause it will be changing shortly esp. if you are going to get the freezing rain and snow that we are getting today.

Can I just say how much I am hating being inside all the time!!!!!!!! I'd go out more often if it were just me, but it's too hard to get my DD out in this stuff. Is is spring yet?:(

Can I tell all of you my secret??
I hired a cleaning lady today.

I want a cleaning lady!!!!! Actually I need someone that could organize everything for me. If I could get organized and get some sort of decorating thing going then I think I could keep it clean. We just have too much stuff!! Since I am homeschooling one would think I would be able to get this house organized. After all I am here all day usually.
Ok into my dream bubble.....Someone comes and organizes things, then about every 3-4 weeks someone comes and spot cleans anything I miss. At the same time someone teaches me how to choose healthy food and get my family to eat it.The house looks great and everyone is eating healthy.....ok time to get back to the real world.
My break is over. Nick has become sidetracked and I need to redirect him so he will get his work finished.

Bethany- it is awesome you have a great teacher and teacher aide. They are so hard to come by anymore. Not very many teachers have the patience to teach special needs children. It takes a truely special and dedicated person.

I'll try to get back here later to catch up a little. Have a great day everyone.

Okay Carolyn, I just now noticed this... we are neighbors!!!! Very cool to have an angel even closer to me than those Evil Twins or Lars ;)

Bethany, sounds like you had a good meeting there... at least hte results were good :) I have to ask... I am kidless and clueless, what is OT for?

I feel for you Lorraine... I miss spring too :( Hopefully it will come... tired of white ground here, you know?

Off to find food :)

E - OT is for Occupational Therapist (our sister is one). BTW, I heard that Evil Twin remark!:smooth:

Thanks Lorraine... but what comment are you speaking of ;)

Well I have now added a 3rd concert to my spring line up... I have Clay Aiken & Kelly Clarkson on the 10th of March and Josh Groban on April 12th... now I have Weird Al on the 31st! I also saw Enrique Iglesias... man... I need more concert money ;)

Hello everyone!:wave2:
No school today. That didn't keep me from my hair appointment though. Priorities!
I really have alot to pages to read to catch up.

Bethany- great job! I bet it feels like you won the lottery. It is wonderful when you have supportive teachers.

I'm hoping to meet the other twin soon.

I would like to have a secret cleaning lady too. First I would have to clean before she comes though. I wouldn't want her to think I never clean.;)

Have a great day!

Sue

PS: Steph my dad just noted the weather in Florida is 80. I think they are thinking about January and February next year. I'm crossing my fingers. The 500 is almost here.

There's still no snow in Central Alabama...I think y'all need to come down here for a visit. :p

E!, I heard Josh Groban on the Superbowl for the first time, He has a great voice! Concerts..............hmmm the closest I will get will be DIsney on Ice. I saw an add for Monsters Ince at the FLeet Center in Bean TOwn, but I don't know if I wanna drive there, TS II is going to be in Manchester, a lot closer, and if the EMRM will ever decide, we may go together with her kiddos.

My landlady had sent her "workers" to reattach the gutters. We could not open the front storm door because it (the gutter) was weighted down with ice and pulled away from the house about 2 inches. The one over the back door is really bent out of shape, and of course when it has water in it, it spills over right on your head as you walk out the door. One thing for sure, she will have a much nicer house when we move repair wise than she did when we moved in. Oh yeah, the guys just show up and start working, don't knock on the door or anything. Max is barking at them, but from the couch, he knows it's not worth the trouble to get his fat butt onto the floor!

Bethany, when I hear about kids with developmental problems, or birth defect type things, my heart just breaks for them. I can not imagine what you must have to go through just to have you child recieve a proper education.

Sue, if you do meet "the other twin", make sure they are together, rumour is that they are one and the same.

Oh well, the guys left, they did the front but not the back! Good help is hard to find, I guess.

LOL Sue, I have heard many say that about cleaning ladies!! Truthfully I would let her come in and just do it all! I would want her to know how much I would need and appreciate her ;)

Alan, you really want us down there???? God help you ;)

Marsha, I heard Josh on the Superbowl as well... he did great and got me excited to see him in April. And I bit the bullet and bought tickets to Enrique Iglesias as well! And Disney on Ice sounds like fun... never looked those up (and at the rate I am going I had better stop ;))

Sounds like you have had a lot to get fixed up on that house, Marsha... sorry it's been sucha pain for you!

Okay I am still hungry and still haven't eaten

well, the real question is how far are you from Talladega?????

Bethany, good for you! Both my kids have Sensory Integration issues. They've been identified by an educational psychologist, but never by the schools. It wasn't serious enough to push for that and they make the honor roll. We were able to cope by seeing an OT privately and conferencing with teachers. I'm always glad to hear when a parent is an advocate for her child! I sometimes have to rock the boat a little for Amy. She's in the gifted program and the teachers don't always do what the program says they should be doing. It can be a pain to buck the system. Glad to hear you had support!

I have to get out and vote today. I'm trying to decide if I should wait until Allen gets home and go together or miss the crowds and go early without him. ;) I may opt for the second simply because Amy doesn't get out of Botball practice until after 5:30. Voting, cooking dinner and picking her up would all be around the same time frame.

I got two more pages in my scrapbook done today. I'm inching closer to having that one finished.

David is going to talk to our priest today after swimming about dying. He's not even 17 and he's been obsessed with what happens to you if you die the last week or so. Do all teens go through this? We've had several high school kids in the area die in car accidents recently. And I think part of the fear is due to his biology teacher. She keeps talking about the physical body and death. How when you die it's the end of you. She also said that near-death experiences where people see the "bright light" are just a trick of your brain - not real. Now I don't know much about NDE, but I'm sure about an afterlife. I've talked until I'm blue, and he feels better, but now he's going to talk to Fr. Dwight. Dwight's great with teens, so hopefully he can put these fears to rest, so to speak. :teeth: David wants to believe his spirit will go to heaven. He thinks he might want to be a priest, but I think he has to get this all straight in his head first. ;)

The "How often do you do laundry?" thread lives again. Don't you just love people who don't read the other responses? There are a couple of good ones.

I've already told you that if you come down I-85 to Montgomery instead of going towards B'ham, we can meet up!

Unfortunately, you would do better going to 'Dega by going towards Birmingham instead.

I'd say we are about 1 1/2 hours from there but some of it is 2 lane.

Mrs. AA graduated from high school there.
