When Dylan was about 4 Matthew was practicing his golf swing in the backyard & Dylan wandered up behind him so as he swung the club back it nailed Dylan right in the forehead DH & I were inside & heard Dylan cry.......but by the time we got to the garage door he wasn't crying.....all we heard was "Shhhhhhhhh Dylan....C'mon please don't tell Mom & Dad...shhhh" Hellooooooooo....were we not gonna notice the HUGE lumpy bruise on his face????? kids

Small inlaw rant!:

my inlaws want to go to Universal while we are there, I have politely said several times no thanks for us......while we were there at dinner on Sunday...a big discussion went on about how they would get there......my FIL (age 79) is worried about driving there (how far is it, how much to park, etc)....as I have never been...I cant answer these questions but tell him I will look!

I tell them that town car service MIL and I are using (FL TOURS: LOVE THEM) will do a transfer to Universal from Disney for them and will take them and pick them up........Wow...great! I told them I think it is $50......they say a little pricey but OK....relieves their mind a little......sooo

I book the transfer (added it on to mine) and tell them ...it was $55 not $50...........and .........this AM on the phone....my FIL has a fit! That is SOOOOOO much money....they dont want to pay all that money!......(HELLO? it's $5 more than what I told you it was!)

so I have now cancelled the town car and have to spend all am searching for directions to Universal for them.....ARRGH!


but again on the phone......I got the: are you sure you dont all want to come with us to Universal........I am afraid I got a little testy this time..........NO WE DON"T!

I just got off the phone with Mrs. AA with my own in-law gripe.

We are going to see her grandmother and aunts/uncles in Maryland at Thanksgiving. We go every few years.

Realize that all of the children live nearby except for Rebecca's father. He has several children from his 3 wives scattered across the country and globe so it's a whole branch they never see. He doesn't see his parents or children, so Rebecca (Mrs. AA) is the only one from that entire side that has kept a relationship with them.

Now her older brother has expressed an interest in seeing them again (he hasn't since he was a teen) and bringing his wife and 4 kids when we go.

Because he isn't a "detail person" she is taking it upon herself to start making arrangements for them to go with us! Travel, etc.

When she mentioned all of us staying at one aunt's house, I put my foot down and told her we would get a hotel room. There is NO WAY I would put 4 adults, 6 kids and a dog in someone else's house. I look forward to seeing the family and spending time with them, but our time will be cut very short with them there.

I would just prefer they have their "own" visit during another holiday, but Mrs. AA said he wouldn't go without us, and she's the one who is pushing him going in the first place.

Arrrgghhh...I love everyone involved and enjoy spending time with them but not all together!!!

Cami, AA & Donna~I feel your pain too...................................I was the one that had to take a vacation this summer with the ENTIRE inlaw family~even extended family (aunts & uncles)..................best of luck to all of you..............

AA~Rebecca has a BIG heart.....she's trying to do the right thing for everyone & make sure everyone's happy.....I know how she's feeling.....give her a hug for me

Can y'all spare a few good thoughts and prayers. I just got a call from my dad. They closed his plant today. I am not sure what is going on, and neither does he but since he is management, he has a job through about the end of the year at least. But a bunch of people are and will be w/o work... keep them all in your prayers. And of course for my dad... he's not sure yet what he'll do... not sure he is entirely ready for retirement. Thanks

I am still actively trying to keep the cruise with my parents a secret , they aren't gonna be happy about this one! lol oh well!

Taking g back to the dentist today......shot and filling time poor little guy he's such a trooper but I sure feel bad taking him there.

P&PD for everyone.... sounds like we should all go back to bed and hide out til wednesday, what do ya say??

Hi, Just got home.
Sorry, I have no time to do a catch up.My mom went into the hospital on Saturday morning with heart problems and I've been taking turns with my sister sleeping at the hospital.
We found out that her aortic valve is leaking significantly and she also has a blockage. They are trying to treat her with meds because they say because of her age (80) she is not a good candidate for surgery. I'm hoping we can get her stabilized and home by the end of the week. She's having a problem with low blood pressure, and when we try to get her to her feet, it just about bottoms out. This needs to be resolved before they'll let us bring her home.

Gosh E, that sounds familiar. Our plant closed, too. Allen is one of the few IT folk that are still hanging on at a new location. His job will end around the end of the year as well, at least that's the latest estimate. It changes regularly. Actually, at this point we'll be pretty glad when it ends, so we can move on. I'll be thinking of your dad and all the people out of work.

Star, hope the trip to the dentist goes well. Our dentist has been my friend since I was a child and is an doll, but I'm still apprehensive about things like fillings. I have to admit it.

Sam and I just got back from the pool and we are now watching Princess Diaries. The DVD was one of his birthday gift card purchases. Ive been trying to tell him to save the cards until he really wants something, but he has already spent 2 of the cards. Next stop is Toys R Us, but I am going to try and make him wait until after vacation.
