~sigh~

I spend all day cooking a turkey (okay, it wasn't much work, cuz I threw it on the grill) and dinner is ready.....but everyone is asleep!!!!

Guess it's leftovers for dinner!!!

Stef

You can sent some turkey my way if you want.

Off to friend house (backyard) for an evening of cards (rumoli).

365 days until I have to do this again

...MIL stopped up our toilet
...step neice (age 13) broke the slip & slide after being told she was too big for it, she went on it anyway. She was jumping up and down on the center channel and popped it. Then she blamed Sam for breaking it. My Goddaughter saw what happened and told on neice, LOL.
...my inlaws are annoying and insane

however
Sam had a wonderful time
the food was great, the wine was better
everyone seemed to have fun

now its time for me to put my feet up and chill. Back later

Pretty Gail. I've never been to Maine, or much of anywhere on the east coast actually. I have been to DC a couple of times. I keep thinking we need to make a trip up that direction and see some angels in the process. ;) Who knows, maybe next year?
That sounds like a GREAT idea for a trip MP!!!!! :hyper:

Thanks for the good hotel review Steph.....it has an indoor pool and the kids are very excited, we just told them tonight.

I agree with your packing philosophy SB - what you don't pack you buy!!!!! ::yes::

Hope you had fun at cards Mike.

Brian - your Cubs got Nomar!!!!!

Bethany - I feel your pain. We've stopped inviting some relatives to parties because of the damage their offspring cause, and always while their parents aren't looking!

Hi E and Lou and Alan and everyone I missed!

Bethany - so sorry some family members have to ruin things. your MIL sounds like mine! As long as Sam had fun..........

Steph - turkey dinner sounds great to me. we just ordered pizza so i didn't have to deal w/ dirty dishes.

Well guys..........I will miss everyone! We are planning on leaving at 5, so I don't think I will be on anymore. I will be back next Friday. Behave Angels and Cherubs!

Hi gang! Long and fun day here, but too tired to type it out now.

Since Lorraine didn't mention it....

Happy 11th Anniversary Lorraine and Joe! :bride: :groom:

Happy anniversary! Stay safe and have a great trip! :wave2:

Bethany, I know all about snotty relative kids. We've got one too. ::yes:: She says snide things to Amy whenever we're together and always puts her down. Grrrr. And whatever she does is okay with the family. I just try to grin and bear it. Glad Sam had fun!

Mmmm. I love turkey. I've never fixed one on a grill, but it sounds good.

We went to Summerfest tonight at church. It was grilled burgers and hot dogs, potato salad, baked beans and salad. They had cloggers for entertainment which caused David to go. . . The kids bobbed for apples and played some games outside. Then we ended the evening with an old fashioned sing-along. It was fun.

Tomorrow night we start vacation Bible school. It runs for three Sundays in a row with pot luck, classes and arts/crafts. I don't know yet if I'm going to be helping with the kids or if I get to attend the adult class. It's all VERY informal from what I have gathered.

The next question is what to fix for the pot luck dinner. I have to plan for 3 weeks. I'm contemplating a pot of sloppy joes for one week, my famous layered salad for another week and maybe slicing a watermelon for the third. Or maybe I should bake ziti, or make pizza pasta? It's so hard to decide.

Allen and Amy are watching Superman on tv. I remember watching that the fall of my freshman year at OU. They put it on a big screen outside the dorms and we all sat outdoors on blankets. Ah, that was a long time ago!

Guess I'd better go plan what I'm wearing to church. See you guys tomorrow. Sleep well.

E, I checked out the scrapbook site. I need to save up my pennies. I see loads of things that I'd like to buy! Thanks for sharing it. I've bookmarked it.

*sigh* I don't even know where to begin with that one, Alan
:duck:
I do hope you had fun with the family :)

Back from Dawn's... we were pathetic and left (for the first time ever) before midnight. I am really tired though so it is probably wise that we left (since I was driving).
I did *love* the drive home though... winding back roads are my favorite :teeth:

Merry, if you aren't motivated, forget the cleaning... never going to happen if you aren't...

Lorraine, have fun!! I am with you on the forgetting thing... what I do forget I can buy (or find something as replacement I am sure) And Happy Anniversary!

Steph, next time let me know... I'll be glad to come over and share dinner with you.

Mike, hope your evening was good with your friends :)

Bethany, I am so glad that despite everything, that Sam had a wonderful time and everyone seemed to have fun! Sounds like a heck of an evening though.

:wave2: Hi Gail!!

Sleep well, LK :)

Eyes are glazing over... I'll reread tomorrow...

Merry I am glad that the site helped you out some. I'll have to pass that on to Pam :)

I need to finish up here online and then go to bed... see y'all later :)

Morning! We're supposed to be painting today but the weather doesn't look promising. :( We hoped to finish the back of the house today so we wouldn't have too much to do while on vacation. Oh well!

Speaking of cleaning, would anyone like to volunteer to clean my bathroom?? My friend from college and her daughter are staying with us on Tuesday night because they're going to the Clay concert with us. It's going to be a strange experience for Doreen & me. His concert is at URI so we're taking our daughters to a concert at our college!

Wishing the travelers to the East Coast safe trips. Carol & SB may have some rough weather to begin with, there's a tropical depression out there.

I hope everyone has a great Sunday!

Yes Gail! We got Nomah........I'm still trying to figure out who was traded where, seems as though there were three or four teams involved. I don't believe the Cubs have any intention of keeping him past this season and if so, it seems like they gave up an awful lot. We'll see how he does for the reast of the year, playing over in the NL. Typically, players that have played in the AL their whole career seem to struggle when they first come to the NL. We shall see. I'll watch them later when they are on.......Maddux is going for win #300 today.

OK....enough baseball ( did I say that?)

Happy 11th to SB and Joe!

Morning all!! I have two kitties sleeping on my legs and I am now afraid to move because I don't want to disturb them. But I do need to get moving though...

Gail, sorry about the weather you are having. I hope you can get some painting in today. No thanks on the bathroom cleaning... not really much for that ;) But you lucky person... you get to see Clay this week!!!!! I shouldn't feel too jealous as I get to see him again next week and Josh is this week.

Brian, I heard about the trade... but haven't heard much about who else was traded around.

Well I should go... need to get up and get moving, even though I will have to disturb someone :p

Good morning everyone.

Good news on the fair front. In the past they paid us $3500 to run the gates for the year. This year they told us we did a good job and gave us a raise to $4500. How great for the band!!! I guess we will have to go back next year.

I am trying to pack (not too hard) so we can get going. We had planned to leave around 11am but Andrew was invited to a party at 2pm so we are gong to let him go for an hour then head out. With the rain we aren't missing too much.

I may or may not see SB. Just depends on how things go. It would be fun though.

You all be good. I'll be getting home Thursday evening sometime so see you Friday.

Now, I MUST go pack.

Good Morning Angels and Cherubs!:sunny: :wave2:

Carol: have a good time! Hope the weather is :sunny: for you!

Admit it, you just go for the pig races.....

Have a great time and say Happy Anniversary to Lorraine and Joe if you do see them. She snuck out before I could say that!

Who's putting out the APB for Lars?

And Gail, shouldn't that painting have been done by now?

You know Cami, I can't tell what's a typo and what's your Scottish accent! :teeth:

Good morning! :sunny:

Leah and I had a great time yesterday with the OTHER Leah and her mom. What started out as a girls only night on Friday turned into a sleepover for both of us at the OTHER Leah's house. Too much sangria helped with that decision. ;)

When we all got up on Saturday, we decided to keep the party rolling. We drove down to the Waterfront, which is a really nice newer shopping development. We had lunch, shopped, and then went to see the Hilary Duff Cinderella movie. More shopping followed, and then we topped off the night with appetizers and dessert back in Cranberry.

The Leahs decided they HAD to do another sleepover, so the OTHER Leah stayed at our house last night.

MY Leah and I are going to hit some stores today for some back to school clothes. Kids are expensive!!!:faint:
