Sue and I just got back from lunch with some friends that we used to know from our Mom's group (when our kids were little). They have nothing else to talk about but their kids and how they are doing in school! Come on, I love my kids but I do have a life too and other things to talk about! Sue and I looked at each other and both thought we should have gone to lunch by ourselves!!!!!

Gail: that is always exciting getting a WDW package in the mail!

Sounds like that group of moms needs to discover the joy of talking Disney. I'm guilty of the same disease. My kids and their activities keep me so busy that at times I think they are my activities. What will I find to do with myself when Amy starts to drive? Actually, I think I can think of a few things. Scrapbooking would be my first subject.

I've been doing laundry today. Three loads so far and I'm not finished. I hate doing laundry alone. It's much easier when someone is there to help.

I've been craving cabbage, so I just cooked a head. I think I ate about half of it. Bet I'll have a belly ache tonight, but it sure was tasty.

Amy and I are on our own tonight. Allen is camping and David is at a church youth conference. We may just order a pizza and watch a movie.

Ok Steph I think I knew the race was next weekend. But I did think there was a Busch race until my husband corrected me.

You know we have a week would could meet up in Las Vegas next week for the race.

Steph Sure just send them down. He would love it. I would have to change my work schedule for next weekend. That is what sick days are for right?

It is suppose to be beautiful here this weekend. I might have to put off the housekeeping and enjoy the outside.

Anyone have any ideas Nicholas has to make a puppet with sticks and strings for performing arts class. I really think this is called a parent project.

Nicholas is in 7th grade. Matthew is in 5th. The rules are no sock puppets. I did ask if we could use a doll and add strings. Nick said that was out. When I mentioned material and sewing. He thought that was a great idea. He knows I'm a control freak and will take over.

LOL Steph. I was thinking the same thing myself. We did that last year when Lars was headed to the World. If I remember correctly, Mel Gibson was driving the limo and we had lots of Krispy Kreme's for sustanence!

I'd probably make 2 long tubes of fabric and leave them unstuffed. You might even want to sew some sort of weight into the ends of each tube. Folded in the middle these could be the legs and the arms.

Then I'd make a stuffed body of some sort. Maybe sew on buttons for the eyes. Add ears if you want to make it a rabbit or a mouse, etc. Attatch the arm tube near the middle and the legs at the bottom.

Then cross some sticks and lash them together. Attatch a string to each arm and each leg. Also attatch a string to the top of the head. Finding the length for the strings is the hardest part. You want them to hang in place when the sticks are horizontal. Tie the string on it's head to the crossed part of the sticks. Tie each arm to a stick end and each foot to a stick end.
