Angelrose's Journey

I told Karen to make an appointment for me at the Pirate's League along with Jesse. :rotfl: OK I know I'm totally senile but darn it, I'm going to be a pirate for once in my life. I even have a name picked out. Black Hearted Rose! What do you think? I hope they let me choose my name.

After taking the kids to the dr's on Friday we came home and I fed the kids while Chuck and Karen left to do their shopping and grab a bite to eat. After dinner it was still nice out, so I let the kids go out and play in the backyard. It was swing time. "Push me higher and faster Grandmom." That was repeated several times. I put Zoey in her little hard plastic swing seat. Remember that part.

I was busy swinging one then the other when I felt something biting my leg.

UHOH you know how this is going to end. I just bent down to scratch my leg while totally forgetting that there was a hard plastic swing coming my way.

BONK! I got hit right in the forehead. After thinking how stupid I was for not backing up before bending down, I kept remembering how Ron fell and hurt his head.

Luckily I didn't have a problem other than a huge knot on my forehead.

Zoey was getting tired so I took her off to bed and then Jesse and I played for another hour until his bedtime. I gave him a little snack and read him one book and then tucked him in with lots of kisses, hugs and "I love you's".

The kids came back around 8 and we talked for a while and then I headed home. Of course it was pouring down rain again. I was very glad to get home safely.

Today was such fun at the Octoberfest. I talked to my friend who I haven't seen since June. We talked until the kids showed up and Jesse was allowed to look in the store.

He picked up a wiggly caterpillar which he called a dog worm. ??? I have no idea why, but he loved it and held onto it the whole time.

We all bought a few things and had some great food. By noon we had seen it all and eaten it all and headed home.

When I got home, I saw that my pool man had come. I was so annoyed. He scheduled me for Wednesday between 10 and 11. He didn't call to let me know of his change in plans. So now he has to come back and finish the job. He has to put everything away in the basement and take off the solar cover and put on the winter cover.

His wife called me this afternoon and found out that he hadn't scheduled me at all. But he was going to come tomorrow to finish up. Well, guess what? I'm not going to be home tomorrow either. So now I have to wait until he calls me again to schedule a time to come back. :headache: He knows he has to call me ahead of time. I have to know he's coming so I can wait for him. My back doorbell doesn't work and there is no way I can hear him knock unless I am sitting right in the kitchen.

But I didn't let that spoil my happy day. Tomorrow looks like fun if the weather holds out.

Busy weekend for you, Angelrose! I imagine that it is so wonderful having those precious grandchildren so close by and seeing them so often.

I know what you mean about not knowing when a service person is coming by. We're in the midst of having our kitchen remodeled. We also are having many things delivered and having estimates for things like bug service. So I schedule things for the afternoons, when I'm home. I gotta say, I hate waiting for people! I'd be annoyed with the pool guy, too.

Enjoy your Sunday!

I survived the day. We all had such a good time. We picked apples, the kids each picked out a pumpkin and I also picked out a couple of small gourds. The corn maze was a lot of fun too. Jesse was having the time of his life. Zoey loved running around.

We bought our lunch there and then let the kids go to the playground to tire them out. Jesse played on the jungle gyms and the slides and then we took the kids over to a play area. Jesse played in the little grocery store with shopping carts. Zoey went right for the tool shed. She found a plastic egg and a screw driver and was very happy. A little boy came in and decided that Zoey needed a hard hat with all those tools. He put one on her head and then left. So cute. Jesse came over to play a while in the tool shed and then it was time to go. We had a hard to tearing them away. Before we left we stopped in the country store.

We both bought pumpkin butter and pumpkin muffin tops. Chuck was besides himself with happiness when he found they had his favorite strawberry rhubarb pie. They also bought pumpkin cookies and a red velvet cake roll. The last thing we bought was a half dozen of their famous apple cider doughnuts.

Karen had one on the drive home. The rest of us had one when we got home. I read Jesse one last story and I gathered up all my goodies and drove home. I think I will sleep very well tonight.

My ankle didn't bother me at all after all that walking. But my arm aches from leaning on my cane. Silly thing.

I will post some pictures in a few days when I get a chance to get them into Shutterfly.

Pumpkin muffin tops and pumpkin cookies! :cloud9::love:

Sounds wonderful!!

We had a great weekend, went out to Olive Garden on Friday. Saturday we went to a concert at the Surflight Theatre on LBI - Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes! I don't know if you know who him, he is a singer from NJ - Bon Jovi used to warm up for him back in the day! We went out for beers before the show and ended up at TGIF at midnight!

Sunday we took a walk on the beach, it was a perfect weekend!:yay:

That does sound like a perfect weekend. Glad you had fun.

Well I have been very busy making Disney plans. I got my flight reservations on Spirit. $266 round trip with my seat and travel insurance included. I thought that was a great price. I am happy with that.

Then I called Tiffany towncar for my ride from MCO to the vacation home. Well, that was a shock. They were going to charge me $216 round trip. I booked with them, but last night I googled limo services around Orlando. There were a ton. I wrote down 5. The first two didn't answer but the third one did. They quoted me a price of $140 round trip. Just a tad better. I booked with them right away and cancelled Tiffany. Loyalty only goes so far.

I also got my reservation for the car to pick me up from home and take me to the airport and back. That was about $50 each way. Not bad.

Karen said that she has made all our dining and Pirate reservations done. Now all we have to do is WAIT.

Tonight was weigh in and I was down .8 for a total of 51.4. I'm slowly getting there. I wore a Halloween shirt that I wore last year and fir. It was a 3X. I floated in it. I can now were a size large and sometimes a size small depending on brand names. I am REALLLLLY happy tonight. LOL

Wow, I feel like I'm going with you! I can't wait for your trip report!

Congrats on the continued weight loss

Gee, I keep forgetting to check in here. Angelrose, I love that you do so many fun things with your family! Your trip is going to be wonderful - it'll be a nice break from your dismal winter.

My kitchen cabinets will be delivered today. The wine fridge comes tomorrow and the pantry door should be available tomorrow too. They will demo the kitchen today or tomorrow. Then we'll be eating out a lot or BBQing. We've also set up our new microwave in the dining room and can use it there. I'm not looking forward to all the dust!

I had another great time at Storybook Land on Saturday. We went on the rides and the hayride. Next we went on the corn maze. They give you a big card with 12 squares on it and you have to find the stickers in the maze to complete the picture. The numbers are random. So you find #1 and then #5 then #2. It took us over an hour to find all the numbers. When you complete it, it's a picture of Storybook Land. Jesse found most of the numbers.

We got some nice pictures of that too. I watched the kids for a few hours that night while the kids went to sign the papers for their new car. They came home and we talked for a while and then I got home around 9.

I babysat again last night. They went out for Karen's birthday dinner. Jesse was a bit jealous of me spending time with Zoey. But after I put her to bed and spent all my time with him, he was fine. He is going to have to learn to share Grandmom better as Zoey gets older.

I will try and post the pictures some time this weekend.

WW meeting wasn't what I wanted. I gained back one pound .2! Not what I was expecting at all. But I will try better this week.

Well, I finally have time to post the pictures we took at Johnson's Farm.

What great pictures Angelrose!!!! Those little darlings are growing in leaps and bounds! How wonderful that you share so many moments in their lives..

I don't always post--but I do follow your journies and see how remarkably you are doing. You look fabulous too! Good for you....

Sounds like another Disney trip in the works..I haven't been since May and I am getting a little antsy already.:confused3

minniecarousel I've been there done that with the kitchen! We pretty much ate out for 6 months! Heavens...didn't think it would ever be done. But when it's done?? So great!

Take care ladies...:flower3:

Thank you minnie56. I am really blessed with a great son and DIL who wants me to be with the children. I am now suffering withdrawal because I haven't seen them in a week! I can't wait for next week to come and then Halloween.

They are blessed with a wonderful Mom and Grandmom too!
There's no relationship like that between a Grandmother and her grandchildren..to this day (and my girls are 24 and 27) my daughters talk about things my Mum said and things she did that no one on earth could do as well as she could! Such as make toast...lol...apparantly she held the record on that amongst many other things!

Enjoy every moment! I know you do...

Thank you for the compliment. I do enjoy every moment I get to spend with them.

I never had any real relationship with either of my grandmothers. One was a little strange (my dad's mother). My mom's mother could only speak Italian and was very elderly. So I want to make sure Jesse and Zoey get some good memories to keep when I am gone.

What wonderful pictures! I can't believe how big Zoey is already! I never knew any of my grandparents, they all passed before I was born (well except for one who passed when I was around 3 - don't remember him). It's so nice you are making all these memories, and have the great pictures to document everything!

I'm still on antibiotics, I have gum surgery scheduled for this coming Monday :sad2: Hope to be back to normal soon so I can chew on both sides of my mouth again :lmao:

Hi Angelrose, it's been awhile, but I think I have caught up :goodvibes. My, you have been a busy girl! You've really done a fantastic job on WW sweetie, you look great, and so glad you are feeling better.

Your WDW trip w/the kids and grands sounds wonderful ~ know you can’t wait and are enjoying help plan, the anticipation of an upcoming trip is always a highlight! Your Pirate firework cruise looks exciting ~ we did the Grand 1 Yacht firework cruise with all the family at our Thanksgiving Grand Gathering a few yrs back and it was absolutely the best, we all have many fond memories. :flower3:

Your pictures of visiting Jesse at daycare, Zoey's 1st BD, the farm trip/corn maze and StoryBook Land are all just wonderful! Jesse and Zoey are adorable indeed, please know your Dis friends enjoy watching them grow and I think Zoey favors you a lot :). Your family always looks so happy and it's so wonderful they live near and you can see them often . We did our annual family trip to our local Pumpkin Farm over wk end. We really enjoyed all the activities and of course their homemade pumpkin donuts and cider are a yummy treat. Seems our grands of all ages always manage to have a ball there! It sure does our hearts good to see them having such fun, doesn’t it? We're truly blessed they help put a bright spot in each day and keep our spirits young at heart! :flower3:

PS ~ your costume is wicked cool ~ you're gonna be one sexy Grandma at 51 lbs less!?!? ;)

I'm still on antibiotics, I have gum surgery scheduled for this coming Monday :sad2: Hope to be back to normal soon so I can chew on both sides of my mouth again :lmao:

Best wishes snappy . I'm facing gum surgery next month and not looking forward to it. Altho I have ins., have spent so much trying to save one molar ~ I'm ready to tell them to pull the dang thing! :guilty:

I tried to do multi-quotes and I messed it up! :lmao:

So, AngelRose to quote Trace Adkins, in that costume you will be "One Hot Mama!" :thumbsup2

Minnie, good luck with the kitchen, it will be beautiful!

Nana, good luck to you also with the gum surgery. I really am determined to keep all my own teeth, sometimes it's not easy.
