Angelrose's Journey

YES HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JESSE!!:wizard:

minniecarousel-yes Gout is very painful, poor Mom. She will be in good hands with your sisters though and I am very sure a little time off for you will be a nice treat. I looked after my Mum in her later years and it gets to be very emotionally draining not to mention physically. Go and enjoy a perfect time.

My trip..I am a TA as you know. Myself and 3 other agents are going on a 3 day pre-inaugaral cruise of Oasis of the Seas--Royal Caribbean's brand new ship and the largest (!!) in the world at the present time. She is on her way to her homeport of Fort Lauderdale and arrives in fact tomorrow!!! You can see her here... www.oasisoftheseas.com and it's pretty cool to go back and see from when she left the shipyard almost 2 weeks ago. I am going to FLL next Friday..we board Oasis Saturday until Tues for a cruise to 'nowhere' we just cruise the waters around Florida I presume which is great, we get time to look all over this ship! From FLL on Tues..I am flying to NYC to spend Thanksgiving with my daughter that goes to school there...meeting up with my 'other' daughter and DH! Get back on the 29th..whew busy days.

So you see, really--I should be planning anything else!!!!:rolleyes1

Just read this whole thread. Thoughts and prayers to you. I know how difficult it can be to go through something like this.

Thank you ReimannLebesgue. I am really trying to be strong. Today it wasn't easy. We're having a big rain and wind storm here. I HATE wind. Ron used to always give me extra hugs because he knew how I hated wind. He was always so comforting to me. I miss him so much.

Thank you minnie56 ,minniecarousel, and chell for the birthday wishes for Jesse. Tomorrow he officially is two years old. I think he's still a bit too young to understand birthdays yet. But I can't wait until Saturday. :yay:

Today I did a bit more decorating. I put all the magnets on the fridge. I have a LOT of magnets. Most are things that Ron made magnets for me from pins and sun catchers, and flat ornaments. I'll get a picture of it for you soon. Every inch of my double door fridge/freezer is covered. Some of them I've had since Chuck was small. There is a candle magnet that MUST be put under Santa's beard. The red bird, MUST be put on the freezer door because that is his half. STILL! After 38 years. Most of the Disney ornaments MUST be put on his half. I get all the other stuff. It's fun to do and Ron used to love it when I would surprise him and get it done while he was upstairs. Then he would take time and look at each one and tell me his favorites. He would give me a hug and tell me what a great job I did.

Now all I have are memories.

But what wonderful and happy memories you have Angelrose! I know it is difficult but I'm so happy for you that you have good memories.

Yes please tell Jesse we all said Happy Birthday!!! :bday:

You must be getting the weather we just had. It has been nasty here for days. We finally got to see the sun today.

Minniecarousel I'm sorry to hear your mother hasn't been feeling well. I'm glad you know what it is though and she is getting treatment. Your sisters will take great care of her. This trip is what you need. You do need a break every now and then. It is so difficult taking care of a loved one.

Minnie56 I saw something on CNN about that ship. That sounds like so much fun! That way you can "sell" those trips better, eh? ;) Can't wait to see pictures and hear all about it.

You are going to need a vacation from your vacation!

:bday: HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESSE! party:

Haven't been here in awhile and had a lot of catching up to do :)! Just want to let you know Angelrose, I haven't forgotten about you sweetie and keep you in my prayers.

Love that photo of Ron with Jesse :goodvibes! My, he was so handsome and looks as tho he simply adored his sweet grandson Jesse.

I got sad when reading you missing your dear Ron, specially while decorating the tree and fridge. I can't imagine that lingering heartache. The firsts after losing my dear Dad were specially tough. It's all a big part of the process, only natural to miss your dear soul mate so terribly as the holidays approach, as he's always been there for you. Know he is guiding and smiling upon you from above, as in your heart forever, he is also with you in spirit. He is so proud of his girl struggling to move forward and being so strong. You are so blessed to have such a positive outlook and such a loving family and friends to surround you with love. It's also wonderful you can come here and reply on your Dis friends to try help pick your spirits up.

Meanwhile, happy news your trip is fast approaching and I hope you are having fun helping plan. Oh my, what exciting times you are going to have seeing Disney thru the eyes of your little grandson Jesse :cloud9:! The park is so beautiful decked out in all it's glory with C'mas decorations! I've probably mentioned we did a WDW grand gathering last Thanksgiving with our family. My it was such a magical time, with many special surprises in store, making wonderful memories to carry in our hearts for a life time. :lovestruc

Thank you 4nana. Good to see you here again.

Jesse's birthday party was a big success. When I walked in the door, Jesse came ZOOOOOOOming to me, laughing and gave me a HUGE hug! I was so thrilled. Karen told me when they were out this morning, Jesse asked for me. She told him he would see me this afternoon. When they got home, he asked for me again. She told him after his nap. The first thing he asked for when he got up was Grandmom. I feel so special! There were his cousins to play with so he was really excited and laughing the whole time. But, once his older cousin scared him and he ran crying to Mamma. She calmed him down and he went back to playing for a while. Then he came over to me and sat real close to me and I put my arm around him. We sat like that for about a half hour. He would smile and look up at me and I would melt and tell him how much I love him. Then he went back to playing again. But that special time was wonderful. One of his presents was a little puzzle with 5 wooden trucks and bulldozers. He got one in right away and had to think about the other 4. But he soon got them all in and we all had to clap and say "YAYYY!" That boy is smart! After everyone left I had some alone time with Jesse and then it was his bedtime. The poor kid was exhausted, but didn't want to leave Grandmom. He cried a bit but soon he was asleep. The three of us talked for a while, but I knew they still had to mop the floor and vacuum the rug before bed tonight. So I left a little after 7:30. I had such a good time. Ron would have so enjoyed playing trucks with Jesse. I hope he was looking down on us tonight.

Ron was there with you! I bet he had his arms around you & Jesse as you two sat there having your special time. :goodvibes Jesse sure does love you! There is no other feeling like that. So glad Jess had such a wonderful birthday!!!

Thanks chell. Maybe that's why I felt so warm and happy sitting there with Jesse. Ron had his arms around us both.

How special grandchildren are! (Looking forward to those days myself.)

Sounds like a very special day, Angelrose.

Hi chell. Here I am. I've been kind of in a strange mood. Yesterday I went to get gas and the place where we always got gas. It is run by a very nice Indian family. He looked at me and at the car and asked where is your husband. I had to tell him about Ron's passing. He was so sorry. He remembered something that happened 3 or 4 years ago. There was a car ahead of us in line for gas. They were all done, but didn't move ahead. So Ron beeped his horn and motioned for them to move up so we could get gas. The young punk gave Ron the finger. Ron was not happy but kept his temper. He got out of the car and asked politely if they could move up so we could get gas. The punk got out of his car and said something like, "You're lucky I don't beat you up, old man." I thought Ron would going to start throwing punches. As old as he was, he was very strong and out reached this guy. But the Indian man and his friend were ready to jump this guy. He yelled at him and said "We respect our elders where I come from. Now get out and never come back to my station again!" I guess with three guys ready to pummel him, he got the idea and left. He apologized to Ron for this moron's behavior. Imagine that! But he remembered that after all these years. He liked Ron and they always spoke to each other when we got gas. It kind of made me feel good that he remembered Ron so fondly. It also made me sad. I almost turned to Ron after that. He would have been happy to know that this man liked him so much.

I took a few pictures of my Christmas decorations.

This is my lighted ornament stand. I use this because the lighted ornaments can only use 35 light strings.

Such gorgeous Christmas decorations Angelrose!!! It looks like you have such a lovely home too. Even your carpet is beautiful. You have done an excellent job decorating. How long did it take you?

I love that first fiber optic village. Isn't that the one with the moving kids? I don't know what it is about them, but I just love it.

Sorry you got sad after being at the gas station. I'm sorry it is still so difficult some days. When I saw you hadn't posted in a few days I was worried about you. I haven't been on in a few days but had hoped you had been on.

That is a great story about the gas station. It says a lot about Ron & his character. That guy must really have a lot of respect for Ron. You don't see that a lot no days. You have a lot to be proud of.

Oh yeah, more pictures please. But you don't have to give us anymore of the Elf. :scared1: He scares me. :scared1: Yeah, I'm weird. ;)

OK no more pictures of the elf :lmao: He really isn't that scary. I just took the picture at a strange angle. The fiber optic village doesn't have any moving parts. Just the lights.

Thank you for the compliment. I love my house and I love to decorate. Big surprise there. Ron always said, he was afraid that if he stood still long enough, I would decorate him. And what I always replied, I can't post on this family site. :rotfl:

 Angelrose! You would say something you can't post here? I am shocked!

I'm weird about clowns, porcelain dolls and stuff like that.

Yesterday my sister calls and says she has something to tell me. Before she gets it out I know she is going to cancel on our trip. I've know for a while that she was going to because they haven't bought their tickets for the parks or airfare yet. Just last week one of their cars & their lawnmower tore up. Well I told her I understood. After we got home about 2 hours after my sister's call my dad calls. Can you guess why he was calling? Yep, he cancelled to. So this trip will be just me & Larry. Larry isn't disappointed. He likes it just being us. We'll try again for next year.

My sister said she was more upset about telling me than she was about telling the boys. She said the 7 year old took it better than the 5 year old. My little baby. I'll really have to plan them a super awesome trip next year!

How much packing have you done so far? We will have to break out the suit cases soon.

Well, I haven't done any real packing yet. There are still 21 days to go. But I have everything organized to be packed.

Here are a couple of pictures of Jesse's 2nd birthday.
