I still think the hold up is that they don't want to announce before the 50th announcement. It would take the steam out of the 50th's announcement. It would also screw up any land-sea sailings. If the cruise is not going to the west, my guess is they will announce this month. My source on the Magic (a high ranking officier) said maybe we could do both (DL and
DCL) after I said we would only be going to the west coast in 2005. He asked what month we would go and when we mentioned DH's birthday was in April, he said he'd wait until June. I would think he would be involved with the planning of how the ship would get there, etc. so I put a lot of faith in him. That's why we booked on board for 2005 with the intent to change the date.
I find it a little difficult to think DCL would fill a ship going through the Panama Canal 1. in August 2. with prices as high as the 10 day. Yes they'd have to cover the costs, but it is HOT in August in Panama. Why would you pay $$$$ to be stuck on a cruise in that weather.
We'll wait and see what happens. I carry my
Castaway Club card with me along with my reservation number at all times in case I hear an announcement.
My guess is if we don't hear an announcement by the end of March, we won't hear it until May 5. We just got to hang in there, patiently

, until we hear. That's the hard part
