I've looked in the Google Play store, and I can't find it. I've searched online, no luck. What I am wanting is a 3G/4G app with a timer; I work in a city that has 4G so I'd like for the phone to automagically switch to 4G Monday thru Friday from 8-5 and switch back to 3G to conserve the battery outside of those times.

Yes, I'm that lazy. I can find toggle apps, just not one with a timer.

Anyone know of one, or is it even possible?

And of course, I would want it to be free. I've never paid for any app; it's the beauty of Android.

Why don't you just get something like Juice Defender that automatically shuts off your Data when it isn't in use. That would save your battery a lot more than a speed switch I would think. Just my 2 cents

Maybe I'm confused (it wouldn't take much!). My understanding is that when a 4G phone is not in an area with 4G, it constantly searches for a cell tower with 4G, eating up the battery. Are you saying that Juice Defender would stop that? Because my issue is, I work in an area with 4G and live in an area without 4G. That's why I'm only interested in 4G on the days/time I am at work.

Currently I simply have 4G LTE turned off and never use it.

I am definitely no cell phone expert, but my understanding is that Juice Defender will solve that problem. When your phone is inactive, it turns off your wifi and data. So, then when you do go to use your phone it just takes a second for either your data or wifi to turn back on. I would give it a try, you can always remove it if you don't think that it helps.
