Andrew Zimmern-Best of Disney World

Yeah, I found myself talking to my computer screen ("WHAT 3 coasters?", "Illuminations at the Studios?", "only a few weeks for reservations in the summer?!" etc.). I sincerely hope it's just bad editing ...

We got this issue of Rachel Ray a few weeks ago... My 2 and a half year old liked reading it while potty training.. he he he

I was reading an article in Florida leisure Travel Magazine last night that said the best roller coaster was Mt. Everest in AK... I know it is a minor slip and if the said the Mt. Everest themed coaster I would have been fine but it’s name is not MT. EVEREST!!! If you are going to publish something check your facts please.

these things will never stop...........a talking head on one of the news/entertainment type shows last week made reference to maybe spending a week at the new Harry Potter Theme Park. good luck with that....whats she gonna do after the first hour and a half:)........people dont get things right about any subject its not just the things we know.

Oh, goodness! I never will understand how people can spend time and money on a vacation and not do some research!

These are the same people who will complain and swear to never return! I guess for us that's a good thing. :thumbsup2

I agree. This is not an article about commando style trips, or the "ultimate" trip. It's Andrew Zimmern's trip, with some advice thrown in.

Many people might not be aware that you need to make dining reservations AT ALL. If you don't particularly care where you eat, and just want to have "a reservation", you *CAN* call a few weeks ahead of time and get something. Months in advance is only if you have very specific wants/requirements as to where you want to eat.
Andrew doesn't have to make any reservations. He'll get a table wherever and whenever he wants to eat.

I agree about ADRs, though. You can almost always get into some restaurant, if you aren't picky about which one. :)

The article was likely written for Andrew by someone who actually did know something about WDW and then edited by someone who didn't.

I like Mr. Zimmern, but my gut tells me he didn't write a single word of that article...

People tend to write using the same structure and cadences with which they speak, (Think about when you're reading one of Kevin's restaurant reviews - You can practically hear his voice in your head)

But, this article sounded *nothing* like Andrew. More like one of Rachel's staff, constructing an article from his notes.

I guess not everyone can be a Disney expert such as all of us. :cool2:

Experts? Hardly. But it doesn't take a lot of effort to get some basic details about WDW, things stated completely wrong in the article.

I think Joshua_me was right about someone else writing the article.

I didn't do any research before I went the first time. All i knew was to NOT ride Mission Space because "it was killing people". :lmao: I had a great TA and we had free dining, so I had a great time. That was 5 years ago.
