I just had a "moment" in the car about 2 hours ago after my grandma and Aunt Mary called me from the road. They're driving from Des Moines to Kansas City, where their flight leaves bright and early tomorrow morning. It just all of a sudden hit me that we have guests en route to our wedding RIGHT NOW! Whoa!

I had a bit of a pre-wedding mini-crisis this morning. My engagement ring broke!!! And I mean BROKE!!! I was driving to work this morning with cotton knit gloves on when my hand started to feel funny. I looked down in absolute horror to find that the diamond and prongs were missing from my engagement ring. Thank goodness the diamond was still in the glove!

So, I pulled over to the side of the rode and called Brian. Then I took the ring to a jeweler and explained that we're flying out for the wedding on Saturday, and they assured me they'll have it fixed by the end of business tomorrow. I'm just soooooo glad this happened today and that I was wearing gloves. It would have been awful if this had happened next week or if the diamond had been lost. The ring is insured, but the diamond is really irreplaceable because it was a gift from Brian's mother.

So one mini-crisis down . . . let's hope that's IT! Just 37 hours 'til the plane leaves!

That's terrible that the ring broke, but maybe a blessing in disguise since the diamond wasn't lost and now during your trip you won't have to worry about it because it'll be nice and secure.

Well now you'll have "Something New and Something Old" in your engagement ring. Thank Goodness that it happened today and that it was a cold morning, making you wear gloves.

So excited for you..I keep figuring out what the date is by your wedding.......I know weird, but someone asked me today what the date was and I was like, well her wedding is on Tuesday the 8th so that makes today the 3rd..LOL

wow, that's a huge realisation! How crazy to have been planning everything for so long, and your wedding guests are on the move to finally get to your wedding! I can imagine myself having a tiny fit thinking about that too!

That's too bad about your engagement ring, I hope they have it securely fixed for you in no time. Are you planning on wearing your ring during the ceremony? Or hoping to get photos of all the rings together?

Hi guys! I wanted to pop in one last time before we leave to thank everyone for their support and kind words throughout our wedding planning process. We've spent today tying up a few loose ends and we'll be ready to go early tomorrow morning! For anyone who might be wondering, my ring is all fixed and is as sparkly as can be . . . thanks to DeAngelis Jewelers! Brian's studio is closed for the week, and we even stopped by to make sure that Mom and Dad Churchill have everything in order for tomorrow's airport adventure.

We have a bunch of guests en route to Disney as we speak by car, and a couple of folks (including my grandma) are already in The World!

I'm looking very forward to the week ahead and look forward to sharing our experiences when we return. I know there will be snags along the way - there always are - but, like Brian says, any Disney minute spent upset is a Disney minute lost. We're just going to go and have the absolute BEST wedding possible and try to soak in each and every minute of it!

I'm super-excited that I'll even get a chance to meet a few of you in person!
