and we're back. [Walt, Wizards, and....Woolungasaurus?]

Can we please be done with this cold now?

I didn't catch this part before.

Do you have a cold or do you have cold weather? Because I have a cold but it is hot, hot, hot, here. Geez it is in the 90's in San Jose and San Francisco even.

We have colds. I'm really hating it.

Wishing my Spanish was remembered! Watching the Chilean mine rescue (despite my claustrophobia just thinking about it all) and I missed who was going *up* in the capsule just now! I thought it was going to be rescue workers going down...not someone going back up yet!

I hate having a cold when it is hot.

This is such a wonderful to see. It is heartening.

Gotta call it a night! Hope everything continues to go smoothly in Chile (right now they are working on the capsule thing...woulda thought they'd have at least two, guess not...).

Going to bed with my Toy Story themed box of Kleenex (tm). Wachoo!!!!

Hmm. One wonders if they had theme park ride engineers help to create those wheels on the capsule...that would have been a good idea! :)

This mine thing...wow. I slept shockingly late today, thanks to Robert finally catching the cold and needing to stay home (he just hugged me when I'd answered "um, yes" to "is THIS* how you and E have been feeling????") and sleeping on the couch (so that when E got up he wasn't alone in the living room), but they were only on 13, and now they are on 21???

I finally caught a glimpse of a note that the "live" feed is on a bit of a delay, which totally makes sense (though it's not really "live", just SNL isn't L on the west coast), and I can't help but wonder if they've sped up the live feed, just a little! :)

Regardless, it's like this day and a half is being lived one miner at a time!

*feel like you've been punched in the face repeatedly, eyes feel like you've been awake for a week, and you just feel like heck...

I think I'm kind of in love with the president of Chile. :upsidedow

(I know nothing at all about him, just what I've seen of him during this rescue coverage, I've read nothing about him etc etc...I'm not basing it on anything I KNOW about him...just to make sure that's understood)

Sigh...how quickly these things end...it's like the Olympics...it's your whole life for a period of time and then it's just over. I'm sure it's even worse for the actual miners and rescue people!

*************

OK, why'd they do that? I've heard that Hollywood&Vine is a pretty bad meal, and they had characters we were not interested in. JoJo and Goliath? Who?

But...now they're moving those guys out, and now it's going to be Handy Manny, two characters from Little Einsteins, and Special (secret?) Agent Oso. Eamon likes all of them. And I just read that their breakfast is perfectly fine.

Do I even have room for another character meal? Do I have MONEY for it? :headache:

/
I hate it when they throw monkey wrenches like that into it.

And it's also extremely inconvenient that this week is when they have chosen to do many many upgrades, and many already made ADRs aren't showing up....

E went to ballet and aikido today, which were the first classes he made this week. Since Robert has finally succumbed to the creeping crud (aka our cold or plague or whatever), he was here yesterday morning and I left E with him so I could go to Zumba. Zumba kicked my rear hard, so I didn't workout today...and E's classes kicked his rear hard as well. Takes awhile to get back up to speed after this creeping crud!

Oh health, how I miss you! Please come back to us!:flower3:

2 movies down...previously mentioned Men in Black, and today we watched ET.

Hubby had a brain freeze moment while watching...the family is sitting around the table in the movie, and Elliot yells the insult phrase to his brother, the one starting with p and ending in "breath". Eamon says "ha ha, he said pea-brain", and...Robert corrected him. :headache:

If E could turn on the waterworks on cue, he could rival Drew Barrymore in the emoting department...it's possible we're going to have to find a talent agent once he gets more teeth (his missing teeth are the reason I haven't already). Not that I want him to be some precocious kid star...but *if* he has talent, it seems a shame to waste it on just us! :upsidedow

I always tell Kody she should go into drama but she won't. She is like E on that. Oh and I understand R slipping I have done things like that and I just cringe.:rotfl2:

Yay! I'm finally caught up after spending a loooonnng weekend in San Francisco. We went to visit DH's mom (we haven't talked to her or seen her in 14 years). It went surprisingly well considering some of the hurt feelings and bad blood that's been going on for so long. DH did NOT revert to childhood behaviors and did not put up monumental emotional walls. It was good.

I hope you are feeling better and your family is doing better, too. I hate being sick. :headache:

That's amazing!!!!

The trip is getting so close. Unbelievably (considering that we had two tentative trips in the early stages of planning that were scrapped over the last 3 years) close. I'm getting a little panicky!

You were in my neighborhood of the world. I'll wave now.

We have an odd relationship with my inlaws so I feel your pain. I am glad to hear it went well.

That's amazing!!!!

Think of all the fun you are going to have!!

Ahh...yeah, there's that funny feeling.

The feeling that this trip is going to be so boring, what a waste of time, it'll be over so fast that there's really no point, I could just pretend to go and it will be the same.... That same old feeling I've had for most of our big trips to DLR and even for our honeymoon....

Of course I know we'll have great fun, just like Michele said just now...but it's a little phase I go through (and I know others do too!)...

Meanwhile, my cousin is at Disneyworld staying at Port Orleans, on a surprise anniversary trip! Her hubby planned it, said "let's go have a special dinner", and it turned out to be this trip. They live only 2 hours away, if that, so it's possible. :)

Got another autograph book and bag for another little cousin. Ariel this time.

Still need to get the rental car situation worked out.

Try on some shirts at Fred Meyer (a Kroger store with a clothing/household/everything section) to see if I want to swap out my ancient cotton tees for some UnderArmour brand shirts...they'd certainly look better, since the old ones really ought to be retired by now. And if they kept me cooler, more's the better!

I *think* I'm just about to hit a point where most of my lower body clothes are going to be too big. CELEBRATION! But if I've just gone down ONE size then my capris are still going to be too small; that means pilates must be done! Oh yeah, I was supposed to be doing pilates already. Whoopsie!

We all have our athletic shoes, flipflops for the pool, I have cute sandal type maryjane shoes... We all have good socks...

I have popup hampers to keep our dirty clothes contained between washings (the DVC villas bigger than studios have washing machines in the units).

Have a whole drawer filled with stuff for the trip, and E has a box where his "I have to bring this" treasures go, so we don't forget anything.

Still working on the shopping list; if we get the rental car at the airport on our arrival day, we're very likely going to stop at Whole Foods for a few things AND for their hot food bar thing for dinner that night. Snarf some dinner, go wander around the resort....

Gotta work on getting some maps, some directions, etc.

Lists, plans, plans of lists, lists of plans...I've written it in graph form, in calendars, in essay form, in lists...

Tomorrow's back to healthy ways. Swim in the morning for E, workout for me...back to the learning work! We had to take off all last week because we were just beaten down with the cold or plague or whatever it was.

Thanks! I grew up in Eureka and DH was born and raised in San Francisco, so we know where Fairfield is. :wave2:

We do have a very strange relationship with his mom. She is a very controlling person and has the "right" opinion on everything. Our oldest son was the catalyst to recreating a relationship with her - he told DH the other day that he was sorry he didn't understand his Dad's relationship and thought he was just blowing things out of proportion. Now he knows the truth! :lmao: It will work out okay in the end. I think DH and his mom will be able to have a cordial relationship - but that will be the end of it. She is not the sort of person that one would ever confide in. You would be reliving the confidence forever.

Molly, you and your lists crack me up. I hope shirt trying on went well.

Shannon, do you ever miss California? I love the Eureka area of the state. My MIL used to live in the same town we do and when I was in the hospital in 2007 in five and a months my MIL visited me once and called twice. To say we have a cold relationship would be putting it mildly.

I know that feeling!

Gah. Didn't go well at all. Harumph. OK OK I set myself up for failure b/c I stopped in after being at the Y (had to get cow milk for my cereal and tea, and had to get tea, too!). I'm not gross, so I wasn't going to try on the shirts like that, but I did hold the bottom of the shirt up to my hips to see if it would go around, LOL. And they did not. Gah!

Will have to go in another day when maybe they have more sizes out and when I'm clean and sparkly. Maybe run over to Old Navy...maybe I don't need a fancy fabric shirt, maybe I just need new CLEAN shirts (not ones that help me live up to an old nickname, that name being "stain girl", because I always managed to get some sort of stain right in the cleavage area).

Oh drat, I meant to get some sort of stain lifter, speaking of that, which is needed thanks to Eamon eating chocolate ice cream and spilling it all over 3 brand new shirts and one pair of shorts over the last few weeks. :headache:

Also need to go to the bank. Ordered new checks, reason being "to update my address since these checks are 3 years old". She ordered them with the old address. :headache: They were SENT to the correct address. But the checks have the old address on them. How does that happen I want to know.....

Will also send off a box of CDs to abundatrade.com while I'm on the walk to visit the bank! Hey, a good day tomorrow!

Ugh the chest stains. I hate those and it seems that I am prone to them. I keep a bar of Carbona here at the house and it gets out most stains. Including motor oil. It is amazing stuff!! I am sorry it didn't go any better in the trying them on, although you might be amazed how they fit if you actually try them on. Cough, cough.:goodvibes
Sorry for the morning sarcasm I have been dealing with my teenagers.

I'm an ocean girl so I do miss California. I miss the smell of the ocean - that sort of salty tang in the air. I don't miss the school system or the long commutes, but I do miss the redwoods and the green-ness of where I grew up. We always had green around us growing up. I haven't been back to Eureka since I moved away 22 years ago. I would like to go back one of these days.

Wow on the MIL. I can definitely relate, so it seems, can Molly. We make a great trio!

Molly, you crack me up with the lists, too. Have you ever tried Greased Lightning for your stains? I use it all the time. I tend to drop stuff on my "shelf", too. Or a kid puts his head on my shoulder and leaves a mark. I use it on grease stains, grass stains - okay, any kind of stains! You can usually find it at WalMart or Home Depot. My kids come home from school with all kinds of stuff on their shirts and it usually gets it out. I keep a bottle in my laundry room!

Maybe you do need some new shirts. It could just be the pick me up you need. Get some fun colors, something cheerful that makes you feel good. Besides, then when someone takes a picture of you - you won't feel like you look frumpy and old when you look at the picture. Eerrmmm...never mind - that would be the way I feel when I look at pictures of me! ;)
