and we're back. [Walt, Wizards, and....Woolungasaurus?]

So...how can people NOT like the movie Armageddon?

Yeah, I know, there was that other movie out at the same time, Deep Impact, and many saw that instead. So then their battle lines were drawn. I saw Armageddon instead, and saw it at a cool theater in Seattle...good memories.

Just caught the last half hour of it on FX...man oh man I just started crying immediately!

And my goodness is Ben Affleck a hunk in that movie. Whew!

That has nothing to do with our trip, but yummo.

Allergies, or whatever this is, are still going strong. It's getting old old old.

I know I love that movie. And Ben Affleck wow he is hot in that movie.

This season has been horrible for colds and the allergies are gonna be horrible this year in California with the amount of rain we have had after having a drought for so many years.

I am SO upset. Right before this big trip that R is taking...he's just found out that he has a training trip to do (not related to products). And it's taking him to the ONE country he was supposed to decline, but couldn't, because this isn't testing, and only he can do this...so he's going to gol-darn Ireland. The ONE country he wasn't supposed to go to without me. And it'll be May, the most expensive month pretty much to go, so there's absolutely no chance...

He'll be gone for something like 3 weeks in a row in May. And part of it on "MY island" (heh...little braveheart quoting or paraphrasing there).

:sad1:

Thank you.

And I can't spend all that much time dwelling on it, b/c this is the month I have to figure everything out with DVC, so when I call to start booking I can book as much as possible and have all my possibilities laid out on paper. So I have to do all that instead of moping.

I don't like it when I can't dwell. :3dglasses

Yeah, it's probably better not to dwell though. I think that is enough to keep you busy. And that is a good thing.

And now the timing of the trips is changing. Same places, just not all next month. Bought a ticket for the MIL today; about 300 less than anticipated (guess April is lower than May), so it might not totally mess with our car payments, whew!

FWIW, I cannot believe that we are in the position to help send MIL to Korea...this time last year, DH had just been informed that his dept would be closing end of May. We'd just past the "no penalty backing out" period with DVC, we had absolutely no idea what we were going to do...and here, a year later...it's really amazing. (knocking wood here) We're obviously NOT perfect, we still make bad decisions...but it's just *better* than it was last year (though without the near constant Disneyland trips, LOL).

Mm, eating this awesome Thai noodle with peanut sauce meal DH and I just made...from the Betty Crocker book of all places. mmmmmm.

E had his first Aikido class today; he hurt the teacher! :scared1::headache::eek: and a tiny little bit of :rotfl2: E basically put a little bit of tae kwon do into a move that was supposed to be just newbie Aikido. The teacher was doing shoulder rolls based on the kids pushing him off, and the teacher's roll was messed up b/c E put his hip into it. Robert's sooooo in trouble, since he's the one who taught E the hip thing.

E is reading, by the way. Lookin' at words, sounding them out, saying them...it's amazing.

I don't want to figure out accomodations, can't someone else do that? :flower3:

Hi Molly! Just a quick pop in, per my usual! I agree with you. I would be totally bummed if my hubby was traveling without me at all, because I love to travel. But if he were to go to the one place that I was dying to go to, it would be doubly bad. But you are right, no point in dwelling, so hope you are not.

I hate that time when I have to commit and make final decisions. But in some ways it is also a relief, you know??

It is great that E has a good phonetic base, and exciting to see him applying it, I am sure! For some reason both my boys were slow to apply the phonetics, even though both had excellent exposure at young ages. Who knows?? My oldest became a fluent reader in 2nd grade though, and Nathan is making great strides. He really wants to be a good reader, so he can read the tips on the video games!! What ever motivates him:laughing:

I hope your allergies are improving. I have finally fallen victim to the family cold. Nathan takes full credit for having given it to me. With such yucky spring weather, it somehow feels appropriate to be sick. Sure hope the sun starts shining pretty soon.

Have a great weekend everyone!

I love Nathan's reason for wanting to become a better reader. :rotfl: We still don't have a videogame player of any kind, but DVDs have games sometimes in their special features, and DS likes any special features, so I bet being able to do those things independently is a big reason for him, too. :goodvibes

It is going to be a HUGE relief, knock wood, once May 1 rolls around and I can make all the solid decisions! I just hope things work out nicely, mainly for the 2 bedroom part of our stay. The three of us, if we need to, can move resorts more than we truly want to...but we'd hate to end up in a situation where we needed to do that with the rest of the fam.

Guess we'd best dye eggs now! Last year was DS's first time hiding eggs in the condo, and he had great fun. So this year should be better...he doesn't know it, but I bought some chocolate candy and some cutie jelly bean shaped plastic containers (like the plastic eggs, but jelly beans!), and those will also be hidden. :cool2:

This is the first year we haven't dyed Easter eggs. I am kind of sad about that, but then again I should be please with the maturity. Enjoy dying eggs.

We did! I really have to remember to get WHITE eggs for dying, though. The brown eggs get a really neat jewel, muted, sort of tone, but I wanted vibrant. Whoops!

I bet your family regrets not dying them tomorrow...I was just thinking about it, and I believe we dyed eggs and even hid them the whole time I lived at home. I left at 17 for college....don't know if it continued with just my brother and mom (I didn't even realize how weird it must have been at home without me there until decades later...), but I believe we kept it going for a long time.

Decided to work on the plain (no pix- just memorabilia, keycards, info, brief memories) scrapbook today...am up to Dec '07, our Anabella stay...can't find my stuff for that stay. Hmm.

Was it a good trip? Maybe you are blocking it from your mind. I do that.:rolleyes1

Well, I found it. It was actually in my scrapbooking area...go figure. All of our other trips (the folders I keep each trip's stuff in) were in the dining room area where my workspace used to me. Hmm.

Now I actually have to DO something about it.

I just had to call Disney because only part of the tickets I order came in the mail. Thankfully we were able to clear it all up and they are going to send them express mail because it was their screw up.

Glad you got that sorted out! It's not as much fun to get Mickey mail when it's wrong...

It never came. I received five of the tickets but three got hung up. For some reason they never got sent out. I have the paper work for my AP but I am not activating that until June. I am looking forward to a year of me trips. At least two more.

For the first time in months I've been able to actually get somewhere with this Anabella trip page! Now if only I can lure E back away from his Lego construction to do more short vowel sounds...it's always fun to work together at the table. :goodvibes

Had to go back and re-read my Anabella and then HoJo reports (dec '07, may '08) for scrapbooking purposes. I'm hilarious sometimes. Wish I could bring that excellent game for THIS report, but then again, I'm not quite reporting yet, just talking. :upsidedow

For some reason that just made me think of my brother...the and his wife are mysteriously out of town just as their alma mater was in the NCAA championships...funny feeling they were in Indianapolis for it. And I just checked the score, yep, they won. Go Duke! They'll be happy campers when they get home tomorrow; I just hope their cat sitter was at the house during the earthquake!
