And They Lived Happily Ever After - A June '11 Disneymoon TR! THE END - NEW PTR!

Sounds like a great start to your morning (other than the large crowds). Amusingly enough, your route..Space Mtn FP, riding BTMRR, riding Splash Mtn, then getting a FP, would probably have been DF's and my's exact schedule as well. :rotfl:
:rotfl:
It was great to see Miguel had a Ziploc bag for your electronics on Splash! I'm sure the ride wouldn't have been as fun if you had to worry about your items getting wet the whole time.
Can't wait to see what you thought of HM's interactive queue.:thumbsup2

We always follow the same plan at MK. It works out really well! We never have to wait for the big attractions, there. :thumbsup2 I would have been so paranoid if it weren't for that Ziploc! Miguel made sure to bring that up the entire trip! :lmao:

YES! I am here to stay :goodvibes We moved back into our house, and will hopefully (*hopefully) be paid back soon. I will be sure to post pics in my new PTR (stay tuned -- I will need lots of your advice ;)) Loving your first day! Can you believe that we never rode Splash when we were in WDW? It was always down for repair, or way too cold. I am dying to try it! Great idea about the ziplock bag. Can't wait to hear more---can't STAND those tours! haha.

Yay! So glad to hear you're back to DISing! :goodvibes And even more glad to hear that you should be reimbursed for your house. It sounds like things are getting back to normal for you guys. I LOVE that you've got a trip in the works! You know I'll be there for the PTR! Just let me know when you've got it up and running! :woohoo:

I would frame this picture! He looks like a kid, just the happiest ever to be at Disney World. So cute!

I went through your PTR today, and I'm sure you heard this a million times but your wedding was very beautiful. :goodvibes

Thank you so much! It was a lot of work but it was definitely worth it! :goodvibes

What a great start to your MK day! Poor Miguel..that stinks his arcade was closed. Good job on going with the flow! I'm with you...I don't usually do water rides in the mornings either. But in the heat, I bet it felt really good!

I was very proud of myself when I went to get in line for the Speedway! :lmao: At least I didn't have to ride! ;)

Already asking for advice: :lmao:

We are thinking of staying at POR (no kids!). Didn't you stay there before? Do you think FQ or Riverside is best? Thank you!

Ask away! We've stayed at both POFQ and POR. I would highly recommend POFQ - it has always been a favorite of mine. I stayed there a lot when I was younger and it was just plain old Port Orleans. I think it would especially be good if it's an adults-only trip (fun!). It has a really romantic vibe, especially at night! It's so peaceful and quaint. The size is great, too. I think you would like a smaller size since you guys normally do deluxe, right? I find that most mods are too big. I don't like to have to walk a lot at my resort when I'm walking in the parks all day! I can't say enough about POFQ, really. In my opinion, you can't go wrong there! :thumbsup2

You were a gorgeous bride! I also like the picture of your DH in front of the castle.

Enjoy this special time with each other.:thumbsup2

Thank you for sharing such a great time with all of us.

Thank you for sharing such a great time with all of us.

Thank you so much! I so enjoy getting to relive our trip here! :goodvibes We are definitely enjoying our time as "newlyweds". :cloud9:

Congratulations on your wedding!! :bride:

I'm subbing to this and totally loving your TR!!! Poly is my absolute favorite hotel. The only thing that would make it better for me would be a hot tub!!

The year we found one of the paint brushes we were on the first raft over to Tom Sawyer Island. The CM told us about them on the ride over. My 3 grandsons had a blast looking for them. An older couple spotted one of the 5 paint brushes hidden on the island and pointed it out to us. So, we casually walked by and let the boys "find" it. They were thrilled and it was so nice of that couple to let the boys find the paint brush. We got a fast pass to BTMR to use any time we wanted. We were there at a very slow time, so we really didn't need it. The best part was just running all over the island to try and find the paint brush. It was really cool!

You guys had a great start to your first day.

How awesome was it that Miguel had the ziploc bag ready for you! Happenstance or not, it seemed to work out perfectly.

great update (as always!) and FANTASTIC pictures! THe one of miguel looking so excited is just priceless!

We ran into the Brazilain tour groups in January (and please no one flame me for this!) but it was a terrible experience! One of the worst trips to WDW we have ever had! So they are there in June, too? I believe you said you ran into them in your January trip, too, right?
I hope it wasn't too bad!

Wow, I can't believe how much I missed out on, but I'm glad to be all caught up now!!

Wow, what a MAGICAL first day!! It doesn't get much better than that! The Poly is absolutely gorgeous. I can only hope to stay there one day! And fireworks on the beach...how romantic!!

I'm glad that you enjoyed breakfast at CP! That is my fave restaurant of all, though I do have to say that I don't really care for the dinner there!

I'm so excited to be reading along! You're already off to a fabulous start, so I can't wait to read about all the surprises that are in store!

That photo of Miguel with the castle in the background is so cute! He looks so genuinely happy! :goodvibes

The Brazilians :scared1:

A fellow Atlantan joining in! Your wedding was gorgeous!! The St. Regis is a stunning location! I loved your colors and your dress! :)

Can wait to read more about your trip!

Oh and the comments that the entertainer lady and the CM made would have annoyed me too. I also look young -when I'm in WDW I keep getting asked by CMs what I'm studying in school (even though I'm 33, lol). At least I don't get handed kids menus lol.

Can't wait for more!

Thank you so much! So glad to have you following along! :woohoo: I completely agree about the hot tub at the Poly! I can't believe there isn't one!

That is so neat that your grandsons got to "find" the paintbrushes! That is so sweet of the couple to point it out to you. :cloud9:

Thank you! :goodvibes I don't think you'll get flamed here for complaining about the Brazilians! No one likes them! We saw them in January, too (we've seen them every time we've been) but they are most definitely worse during the summer! :scared1:

Congratulations on your wedding! Love you trip report so far & can't wait to read more! Disney is where I'd LOVE to get married or honeymoon! :)

DAY 1 - Pt. 3

When I last left off, we had just finished up an fun ride on Splash Mountain, and were headed to Liberty Square to visit all of the happy haunts at the Haunted Mansion!

I ended up having to drag Miguel away from the "games" so we could actually go inside!

HM was fun as always and I was surprised to find that there was a new feature added towards the end of the ride, too. I won’t give it away for those who haven’t ridden yet!

When we left HM, I remembered reading about the kitchen items store that was near-by and persuaded Miguel to pop in for a minute. Thankfully with the heat, it didn’t take much to convince him to go in any store on this trip!

Since I wanted to do more souvie buying than normal on this trip, I figured a kitchen store would be the perfect place to get started. I find that I have a hard time spending money on souvineers because I can’t find a use for them. But, I love to cook and I love all things kitchen-related, so I knew that I could find something useful in this store. And I did! I hate drinking without a straw, so I got a cute pack of reusable straws and I am always looking for a bag clip, so I got a set of those, too!

After our shopping, we headed over to Adventureland to check out the wait times for Pirates, which thankfully was another was a walk on! It was here that we ran in to them…you know who. The Brazillian tour groups!

While we have spotted them during every Disney trip we’ve been on, these were definitely the worst behaved. They just kept screaming for no reason, and no one was making them stop. Probably because there was only one adult chaperone to about 100 kids. That just doesn’t make sense.

Lucky us, we were smushed right in the middle of them. Now, we didn’t do that intentionally, but when we were walking in to the line, a group ran past us and the other portion of the group hudled behind us and we were trapped! Thankfully, a kind CM noticed that we didn’t belong and pulled us out of the group so that we could board a separate, much quiter boat.

We always like browsing through the shop after exiting POTC. There are so many neat things in there!

Soon enough, the Brazillians poured in, so we decided to get out of Adventureland! It seemed like a good time to head back to Tomorrowland to use our Space Mountain FP’s. Miguel decided to take us the long way to Tomorrowland, taking us through the very croweded Fantasyland. Probably not the best idea - but hey, I was going with the flow!

We had almost made it to our destination when a CM noticed our Just Married buttons and decided to have a little photoshoot of his own. It was fun at first, but he went on and on and on telling us to stand here, no there, turn this way, no that way. By the end we were tired, hot and embarrassed. At least we got a few cute pictures out of it

We finally made it to Space Mountain, but when we got there, we were told the ride was temporarily down. Back across the park we went to use our Splash Mountain FPs, but when we got there, we were informed that that mountain was closed, too!

By this point, we were tired of criss-crossing the park and were quickly roasting in the hot sun. So, we decided to forgo the FPs and just head on back to the Poly.

Once we got back to the Poly, I was hungry for some lunch so I headed down to Captain Cooks for some food to take back to the room. After remembering reading about it here on the DIS, I decided on the Aloha pork sandwich with the Polynesian chips. It was a very good choice! The sandwich was very tasty and it was huge! The homemade chips were nice and crispy and had a really good flavor.

This was also waiting on us when we returned back to our room!

Next up: And Evening at DHS and Dinner at Sci-Fi

I think you did well with your first set of souvenirs. I love kitchen stuff too...just wish I liked to cook more :goodvibes

That stinks both Space and Splash were closed..talk about bad timing!

That's funny about your mini photoshoot. DF and I wouldn't been dying of embarrassment. You two were good sports :thumbsup2

Excited to read about the rest of your day!

We have been fortunate enough to never run into the tour groups, but they sound awful! Thank goodness you had that nice cast member!
