And the Rain, Rain, Rain Came Down, Down Down - or Oy, Fay! Updated 10/1. The End.

Great installment. I love the pictures of the boys, they are so handsome. The video was so cute. I love watching the kids get excited at Jedi Training.

It only took me all day to catch up with your TWO updates, CE!!! Oh well, it was fun! Sounds like you guys had a great day at DHS. I know that it never seems like a full day park to me. Did you guys ever go back or were you done with it after the one partial day?

Sorry, Jodi! I can't tell you yet... :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

And I just absolutely love this picture of Buzz:

If this doesn't exemplify the wonder and joy of WDW, I don't know what. :goodvibes

Your young padawan looks so focused. The Force is strong in Woody! :yoda:

But, it was pouring SO hard that when I went to get a glass (well, plastic cup) of wine at the pool bar, a big honking raindrop fell in the cup and made wine spill on my shirt! No joke, it was just raining that hard. :scared:

and around 5:10 we all headed in to get ready for our dinner at Boma.
:yay: Oh boy, I love Boma!!

News Flash===Woman at WDW.........who others call "Angry Bus Lady" has confirmed the suspected bus conspiracy........she states "they send all the buses to POP and leave NOTHING for AKL!"........

:lmao:

The boys look cute with the Power Rangers!

::yes:: I figure every guest thinks their resort doesn't get enough buses. ;)

Thanks!

Mmmm hmmm.

We all headed up to the room to take showers. D taught the boys the “rub, scrub, rinse” method – they like long showers as a rule, but they did well getting in and out in very good time. :thumbsup2 D & I took turns showering, and we all changed at least one item of clothing. I only bring this up because I had done really well packing light. Yeah, so all the wet clothes were making things scary because I hadn’t brought enough extra. D’oh. :headache:

We headed down to Boma. Our ADR was for 5:55 and I think we’d had the buzzer for about 2 minutes before it went off.

We were seated in the middle section, but at a half booth/half chair table. D & I both ordered the South African red wine flight, :goodvibes and we hit the buffet.

The server mentioned an interesting fact. She said they rotate through a series of 3 menus, so that if we came back the next night, it wouldn’t be the same. I hadn’t known that!

The selection appeared, though, to be the same as our night last year. That was fine, as we’d all liked it!

We all tried some soup and salad for starters. I had a fantastic potato/bacon soup, D had a sweeter African specialty. Woody even tried a new soup. (He’s picky, so this was good.) I think both boys had some hummus and crackers and different salads.

I know I had quite a bit of the bobotie (sp?) and so did D. The boys went with the kid stuff, mostly the penne & meatballs. I want to say I also had some roast chicken and really good potatoes, and more hummus and… I don’t know, there was a lot of good stuff.

Woody was acting up a little, which is never fun. :( I figured he was just overtired, but it's still not acceptable, you know? I think D took him out to the waiting area for a little talk, but they were back quickly.

After hitting the dessert tables, we had to decide what to do. It was probably nearing 7:15 when we finished up.

To my surprise, the kids were raring to go back to DHS. We reminded them that we weren’t sure if we could do TSM again, with it being so late and not having FPs. They were OK with that, so off we went. I don’t remember having to wait very long for a bus, and there was certainly no angry lady this time. :rotfl:

In what will continue to be the case throughout the trip, I took no notes after dinner. And apparently very few pictures… So I'm sorry... :guilty:

D grabbed this right before we got going in the park. Yep, windy and rainy once again:
IMG_3260.jpg

We went straight to TSM, and the standby was 70 minutes. Hmmm. What else could we do? The shows were all done, the boys were still having none of ToT… Then they saw the spotlights up in the air and asked what it was. I said it was the Great Movie Ride, and I didn’t know much about it, but did we want to try? They said sure, so we went on over. We got right on, and to my surprise, everyone liked it. The boys thought the gangster (in our case, she was a woman) was pretty funny. ;)

We were really out of things to do by now. D asked about Spectro. I wasn’t sure they’d really even DO Spectro in the pouring rain – I feel that I read on Lessa’s TR that they hadn’t done a full one the day before, but of course I didn’t know that then. I saw Spectro in 2000 and liked it well enough, but we just can’t get over sitting around for basically two hours to see one thing. We agreed we didn’t want to go sit in the downpour. So, we figured we’d try TSM again, because D was “Done with Star Tours for today.” :rotfl2:

We got to TSM, and the standby line now only said 50 minutes. We figured that we didn’t have anything else we really wanted to do, so we went ahead.
D likes the crowd pictures, as you know, so:
IMG_3262.jpg

The line kept moving, and I don’t think it really did take us 50 minutes. It was probably more like 30. :thumbsup2

Whilst we were nearing the loading area, I got a text from T. Our plans for the next day had included a Focker day at Typhoon Lagoon with PrincessV, DisneyJo, and Lauralee131. T’s message (and I only now know, after reading her update, that she was actually with V at the time – I admit that I wondered how she knew!) said that V said she was not going to TL on Friday, and gave me V’s number to call if I wanted to know more.

I hadn’t seen a recent weather update, but the boys were looking really forward to TL. I sent a message back saying that I thought we’d probably still go, but I’d call V.

We got loaded on and had another great time. As we were leaving, the standby line said it was down to 30 minutes. I think this was because people were mostly all now at Spectro - but we weren’t sure we wanted to wait and do it again. The FP line CM must have heard us talking, and handed us immediate use FPs and told us to “go again, have fun!” What a great treat!

So we got right back on – that’s right, 4 TSM rides in one day!!! Woohoo! :cool1:

I do know that next I stopped under an awning in Pixar Studios and called and left a message for V. It was kind of funny – I didn’t know how to identify myself – name or “CE” and I was kind of nervous. I don’t know why – she doesn’t strike me as someone who’d bite.

At that point, though, everyone was pretty done. I asked D if he wanted to go do the thrill rides and I’d take the boys back, but he didn’t want to split up. He’d felt bad that I had to go home early the night before, even though I’d volunteered. He's nice, my D.

Side note – I keep suggesting this because I know he likes the big rides, and I want to keep him happy - so he’ll want to go back to WDW!!! :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

We caught a bus very easily again, and were home lickety-split.

When we got back to the room, I sent D to get some wine, and I put the kids to bed. We did discuss, as they were lying in bed, that we might not get to do the waterpark, so what should we do?

IMG_3269.jpg

We finally decided that we’d probably bump up our AK day if we didn’t do TL. That way, by Monday when we had to leave, we’d have been to all the parks and we could pick our fave on Monday instead of feeling that we had to hit AK as we would not have been there yet otherwise. Friday night I had an ADR for Raglan Road at 6:30, so that would still work out, as we don’t tend to stay at AK too long.

So, the boys went off to sleep, and I ran down to the front desk to ask about the water parks and weather.

The folks were pretty helpful. I found out that they don’t close the WPs in rain, but they will with thunderstorms. They had closed this day, Thursday, they said. The information would be on the Disney info TV channel if they decided in the morning to not open. The forecast did call for t-storms on Friday. If they close, you can get a “rain check” ticket to go back another day, but that wasn’t going to help us as the only other day we could do it would be Monday, and we didn’t want to be at TL with no room in which to shower and such before our flight out. So, that did clarify things for us a bit, as we were just paying for these tix, and wouldn’t necessarily want to risk losing the money.

With all that info in hand, D & I hung out on the balcony watching it rain again, and all was well. :goodvibes

Edited to add:

I'm totally spacing it. When I mention Spectro up there, I mean Fantasmic. I just don't want to search it all down. Thanks to Lessa for helping me to see the light! :rotfl:

Spectro was a no go during the trip as it had been canceled all through the end of August due to the Liberty Square bridge refurb. Good thing you guys didn't try and see it. :thumbsup2

Woo Hoo! Trying to get caught up and I got a two-fer double installment! Yay me! :cool1:

Wowza, I knew we should have hit the Prince Caspian meet and greet! D'Oh! He's sooo dreamy! :lovestruc

The Jedi training looks totally fun! Do they pic adults or just kids?

popcorn::

Oh, for goodness sakes. I meant Fantasmic that whole time. We definitely knew about Spectro and we weren't at the MK anyway. Sheesh. :rotfl:

But thanks, Lessa, and did they do Fantasmic that previous night?

They only took kids on the one we saw. They have about 12-15 spots... They did take an extra Make a Wish kid on ours as well. :thumbsup2 I have a lot more pics and video if anyone is interested - I just didn't want to bore anyone. Let me know if you want it!

Cute! Even with all the rain, you guys look like you're having so much fun! :goodvibes

Wait, I'm confused ... you were thinking of heading to the MK? Or are you talking about Fantasmic.

Cool deal! :thumbsup2

Here's what happened ... we were talking about what our plans were for the next day and V admitted TL sounded like a wash, then she thought she should tell you her change in plans. She didn't have your number, so she asked my to text you that info. She dictated and I typed. :teeth:

So we got right back on – that’s right, 4 TSM rides in one day!!! Woohoo! :cool1:
Super SWEET!

Great installment, CE! I actually got a triple update! Woohoo! :yay:

But thanks, Lessa, and did they do Fantasmic that previous night?

:rotfl: I thought maybe you guys wanted to park hop. :confused3

The first show of Fantasmic was a go, not sure about the second one. They said they only cancel it if there is heavy rain or thunderstorms.

Cute! Even with all the rain, you guys look like you're having so much fun! :goodvibes

We really were. :goodvibes

Wait, I'm confused ... you were thinking of heading to the MK? Or are you talking about Fantasmic.

Nope, I realized it when I read Lessa's reply and added a footnote that I'm spacey. It was Fantasmic. :rotfl:

::yes:: I just figured she had your number stored, but not mine, you know? It worked!

Super SWEET!

I was pleased! :thumbsup2

Gotcha! Thanks again for saying that about the bridge, or I would never have caught it! :rotfl:

Great Update! I can't wait to try TSM next May !!

You'll love it! :goodvibes Thanks, Rosie.

Fantasmic??? Gotcha!!!

TSM 4 times???? :faint: How nice of that CM!!! Disney magic baybee! That's why we all love it so! (and because where else can you go and act like a 5-year-old for a whole week and not have anyone think you're crazy for doing it!)

Great update chica!!!

I'm impressed at your TSMing abilities.

It was really nice of him. The standby wasn't that long, but I wasn't arguing. It made our decision really easy. :goodvibes

Great update chica!!!

Thanks!
