And the Delta saga continues....

So, in case you haven't been keeping up, Delta has changed our flight that we booked in March 3 times....wait, last night became 4 times. To date, we had been pretty good about it. We were ok with staying another night - gave us another full day - we were ok with that, but we specifically told them that it could not change again because that was our MAX allowance time there.

So, low and behold last night I get a call that they had to cancel that flight and put us on a different flight with a 9 hour layover in Salt Lake city, getting us home at midnight (when we specifically said we had to be home that evening the first 3 times due to previous commitments). I got the "oh I'm so sorry, but unless you want to leave 2 days before or the following day, we have nothing left!". I got off the phone, pretty much livid - but understanding of the fact that the person on the other end of the line didn't make the decision to cancel that flight, so I don't get mad at them. Instead, I get off the phone and burst into tears. At the moment in my life, I am going through alot, and having to deal with an airline company that is coming across as incompetent is beginning to irritate me, to say the least.

I call my BF and let him know, and let's just say it's a good thing I am handling the Delta situation, because I thought he was going to lose it. So, I'm crying and I call back Delta....literally, talking in between sobs, and asking them to PLEASE try to find some other way home. The guy on the other end of the phone just happens to be a guy that I had previously talked to about a different cancellation and he happened to remember me. He ended up getting us on a flight with United on the return home....which is fine, as long as we have a flight home, but this procedure took an hour to get completely straightened out. I asked him what the chances were of another flight being cancelled, and he said all the flights that I am booked on are pretty much full, so probably not going to get cancelled, but to keep watching just in case.

Anyways - Delta flyers beware.....I am anticipating something happening again - and next time Delta, watch out....I may be fuming by then!

Good God What a nightmare! A holiday is supposed to be a time where you can get away from the stresses and daily grind and Delta has done nothing but contribute to the stress.
