18 days until my due date....

Any advice as to what I can do to occupy myself that doesn't involve much movement?

Got a scan tomorrow as I'm measuring 4 weeks ahead even though I'm due in under 3, so we get to find out just how big she is.

Not sure anything will make the wait easier. It's the longest time ever. Especially knowing it could be any time now.

Enjoy doing things you enjoy that you won't have much time for soon. I would read some books as i have not read a book since Jessica was born.

I'd be doing all the things I won't be able to do once baby comes and i'm up to my eyes in nappies.

Chilly - easier said than done! 20 minutes at a snail's pace around Bluewater on Saturday was enough for me - she's a BIG baby and her head is engaged! Whatever you need done do it before 34ish weeks!

Yep, I agree with the others. And oooo ouchy, I agree with the head engaged part. Samantha was engaged at 35 weeks, felt like a bowling ball and the jabs to the ribs were mightly unpleasent at times Worth it all though

Just take it easy and enjoy some 'me' time and read and relax, as that's all out the window once the bundle arrives

Anyway, Samantha was 8lb10 born, which the midwives said was a big baby for me to be carrying (I'm only 4ft10 ) and she's just perfect now, all evened out nicely, so I'm sure little B will be just as wonderful no matter what her size Plus, bigger babies are actually easier to deliver, as they provide more gravity You'll do great hun!

Did Samantha fit in size 1 nappies? Or newborn clothes - mine are the up to 10lb ones?

I don't know whether to pack some size 2s and some 0-3 month clothes in my hospital bag or not?

I was luck as Megan was a week early (planned section due to her position) and Although 2 days over with Charlie I was so busy with a 2 year old I didn't have time to be bored lol.

If it helps Charlie was 9lb and fit in size 1 nappies no problem.

He didn't however fit in any newborn clothes as although he was under 10lbs he was very long (98th percentile for height) and his head was large so didn't fit the hats either. Glad I took one outfit in 0-3

I have about 5 packs of size 1 (so like 100 nappies which I know is only a week or twos worth.) And then 1 size 2 and 1 size 3. So I really hope that the Size 1s aren't too small as I have loads. They were all either free or with vouchers, huge discounts etc, so I guess worst case I'll give them away.

We're going to be using cloth, but I want to settle in at home a bit first.

I think I will wash some 0-3 outfits and pack one just in case. We have such adorable newborn stuff that I'll be sad if we skip it all!!

I also hope to be able to fit her into Duffy's costumes for photos! Lol.

Unfortunately I have no advice (when shes 2+ and at nursery, then I have many tidbits!) But I just wanted to say "wow, that went quick!" and I'll be thinking of you!

Im sure you'll be fine with the Nappies. Ive always found that even though it says upto 11lbs its never spot on and you can go a bit over.

Same with clothes really. Charlie had some newborn stuff that lasted ages as it sermed to be cut better/differently. Whereas some bits never fit him.

I don't think they can ever really tell the size properly

I was HUGE with Connie and was measuring over 50 weeks hospital kept saying she was going to be BIG, I was having a planned section anyway so didn't really matter other than needing a wheelbarrow to get myself around in

Turns out she was the smallest of my 3 at 7lb 2oz

I no it's hard the last few weeks are the worst, but try & enjoy them as best you can&look after yourself

Ps I've got loooooads of pink stuff I need to get rid of so give me a shout if you need anything (bumbos, baby walkers, baby bouncers you name it if its pink I've got it)

Can't believe where the time has gone just enjoy reading, watching TV/DVDs, and doing absolutely nothing ..... as it's your last chance for a VERY long time (but all totally worth it!)

Samantha fit in both hun. They still are only 'tiny' despite the weight. I think Samantha did a couple of weeks in newborn nappies before I moved her to size 1. She's only in size 4 now and she's 14 months and there's still plenty of room in those.

I think I did take 0-3 month vests though, and like Laura, I was thankful, she had a big head

Elsie is 24 months and still in size 3 but dont you find that all the different brands size different? We find that huggies are a lot smaller and Pampers are a lot bigger weird.


Have some nights with your feet up Torsie and just enjoy Jacks company because when she comes she will be centre of attention. Have a few date nights. If you don't feel up to going out have something nice for dinner and watch a film together x

Yep weird how they vary, although you can't get Huggies any more.

Asda nappies are the ones we found best early on

We use asda and aldi ones. I don't like pampers at all. Find she soaked more when wearing them.
