Anbody else an ex-goth or ex-punk?

I guess that's what it is. I have an Exploited and two Misfit tattos, among others, so I can't ever completely escape it. ;-)

Seriously. It's not that hard to grow up and still be punk.

I still have my dickies, t-shirts, chains, vans/chucks, and middle finger available for when I need them.

I just wear a lot of black CK, Armani, and Burberry at the office.

And I spike my hair daily.

EDIT: My first car had a Misfits and a Black Flag sticker. My second car had a Christian Death sticker. My new car hasn't been decorated yet. I might get a Danzig skull and slap it on there.

My cousin worked with him on a project and said that he was the strangest person he had ever met! LOL I have never met Jello but I met Rollins back in 91 before he did a spoken word show. We talked for about a half hour and he was a really nice guy. He ever called me a couple of weeks later. Long story! LOL

The same could be said of people that dress and look completely 'normal'. This thread wasn't created for people to be crass. For people who may listen to Crass? Maybe, but not for people who want to insult others.

I would guess by this statement that you were not one of these folks. So instead of trying to understand through a dialog, or interrupting an entertaining trip down memory lane. . .you go for sarcasm and put down attempts.

Sweetie- the punks/aternatives/goth/etc/etc mastered the put downs. There is little one could say that we have not heard before regarding our choices and our outward appearances. But since this is a family board and I am a mother, I will. . .with the utmost respect. . .say. . . .to each, his/her own.

anyway, just had to share a funny story last night. I picked up my son (almost 15) and either a Ramones or Sex Pistols song was on in the car. I was singing out loud and my son joins in...

He then stops mid verse and says "There's something a bit WRONG about jamming to the Sex Pistols with your mom!"

anyway, just had to share a funny story last night. I picked up my son (almost 15) and either a Ramones or Sex Pistols song was on in the car. I was singing out loud and my son joins in...

He then stops mid verse and says "There's something a bit WRONG about jamming to the Sex Pistols with your mom!"

I was never into either but I respect both and have friends that were/are...Having said that I have been Brother of True Metal since the 3rd grade, so I am more of a black metal tshirt and jeans type of guy Punk is one of Metal's cousins and heavily influenced early American Thrash especially with bands such as D.R.I. and Goth particularly European Gothic Metal is a whole different sub-culture to what you see in America and South America but still prevalent in the U.S. none the less. I have a couple of friends who are still heavily into both Sub-Cultures and I am still into Metal the only difference is now that we are adults and have real jobs we can only show our true selves on the weekends and for me when I am on vacation and Disney is no exception of course as I have been bringing metal to Disney since 1998

I've actually just started getting into metal. I never hated it when I was younger, I just liked so many different bands that I never got around getting into it. Which is all pretty funny considering some of the only people I got along with at my high school were the stoners.

I love this story!! I have slowly introduced the Ramones to my DS5- via the Spiderman theme song. . .but now he likes Rock-n-Roll High School too. . .gotta train them young
