Anandapur Yak & Yeti Restaurant?

And the Rainforest Cafe is on The DDP Premium Plan

1) Technically, the Premium and Platinum Plans are not DDP.
2) They are plans that just include dining.
3) They are even called "Magic You Way Premium/Platinum Package".
4) DDP has 1-TS, 1-CS and 1-Snack.
5) Premium and Platinum don't have such limits.
6) In fact, on Platinum you can eat at V&A every night, if you wish.

I gotta admire someone with enough guts to put "Yak" in the name of their restaurant. In college we used "Yak" as a verb for something that happened when you drank too much! :lmao:

Anyone know why more Disney restaurants seem to be moving away from Disney owned to others? I'm very disappointed with the way they seem to be moving away from "Disney" to subcontractors. I know the contracts are fairly stringent, but I feel more of a Disney feel in those things done by Disney CMs.

I totally agree. I have always noticed more of a "disney" feel in the disney owned restaurants also. I am very disappointed by the trend of moving to contracted out restaurants. Also, the menus at the disney owned restaurants seem to have gotten more generic over time and not quite as unique for many of the restaurants. With the exception of the 2-TS credit restaurants like Jiko, etc and Victoria and Alberts - Disney seems to have less emphasis on "chefs" at their restaurants and more on just having "cook's" Don't know if it's true but it feels that way. Not sure if this is a financial move or they just don't want to be involved in the restaurant business much anymore?:confused3

Anyway - I hope they keep ownership of the ones they do have.

I have a similar concern. Sadly, it would be very easy for Disney to continue to farm out restaurants--with uneven results. The World dosen't need another Fultons.:)
I'll be interested in the menu also, and if there is enough "dinner business" at the AK to support the place.

I'm hoping that Y &Y is on the DDP as well. Are any non-Disney owned restaurants on the plan? I thought Raglan Road was not a Disney-owned restaurant, and it is on the plan. I know Raglan Road has its own non-Disney website, hiring policies, etc., which makes me think its independently owned.

My thought is that there might be more competition and thus better and different food and service if the restaurants were not all owned by the same entity.

Never know. Just a thought.

I thought the new bfast was at Tusker House which is changing to a buffet. So many changes to keep straight.

you are right! Here is the info that I found.............It doesn't look like it is changing names, just being changed to a buffet style restaurant that will be where Donald's safari breakfast will be instead of being at the Restrauntasaurus. See if you understand it the same way?

Tusker House, at Animal Kingdom is being converted to a buffet service restaurant to open in early November. It will offer a Character Breakfast called Donald's Safari Breakfast and will offer non-character buffets for lunch and dinner. It will be open from 8am - 10:30am for Breakfast and 11:30 until park closing for lunch and dinner. Both indoor and outdoor seating will be available. Donald's Breakfastosaurus character breakfast will end after November 5th. Restaurantosaurus will continue to be open as a quick service restaurant from 10:30am until park closing.

The Yak & Yeti will be in a new building that they are currently building, I think:confused:

It is a new building and it looks pretty big. I took pictures last week and it looks like it will be a neat looking place! Gotta try it out next time we go.

I'll try the CS this year, when I go in December:cool1: and if I LOVE IT, I will do a TS next time I go. I already have all my ADR's for this trip and I got some GREAT ones(everything that I wanted)! so I don't want to mess that up!

I will report my opinion(not that it means to much:rotfl: )when I get back.

CAN'T WAIT!:dance3:

Yeah, I read on this week's WDW update at mouseplanet that "November" is now the opening target. I am so disappointed :headache: :sad1: but will continue to keep my fingers crossed since I will be there mid-Oct.

There are a few restaurants that are not run by Disney that participate in the standard dining plan.

None of them are Landry's restaurants.

Landry might make an exception with this one since it is inside a theme park but there isn't any way to know that yet.
