Hi. Just as an approx, how long should I leave to drive from Anaheim hotel to LAX for a 8am check in. Flight is a 11am but it's an international one so we need to be there 3hrs prior. Thanks

On a weekend, 45 minutes.

On a weekday, it should take 45-60 minutes, but it can take 90-120 minutes, it cannot be predicted.

Best bet, leave your hotel at 6.30AM, you'll probably be fine.

Take the all-carpool lane route: I-5 to 91 to Harbor to 105. It might not be the most direct route, but you'll always have a carpool lane.

I agree with the above posts. We left the Grand Californian Sunday and drove to LAX at about 3:00 PM. It took about 40 minutes. Hope this helps. On Sunday, there was absolutely no traffic. However, that was the first day out of the previous 10 where we didn't hit any California traffic.

If you're actually driving it, leave in a nice cushion of time to return that rental car and get the shuttle back. And to gas up the car (honestly, considering the onl gas station we found around there...I'd just pay the huge prices to the rental agency to prepay the gas fillup) too.

I hope no one minds me piggy-backing on this thread, but how is the traffic on a Sat. night around 5:30 - 6:00. We are arriving into LAX at 5:30, and I am curious to know how bad the traffic will be. We had originally booked an early Sun morning flight, but Horizon/Alaska decided to discontinue the flight without telling us, so I rebooked for Sat evening.
