Heigh-ho! Anyone have experience staying at the Anaheim Plaza?

How long is the walk to the main gate? I believe they charge for parking at this place, unlike some of the other nearby hotels.

Is this a good choice for those on a limited budget?

thanks!

We have stayed there a few times and the rooms are clean and very basic. They didn't charge for parking when we were there but I think it is now $2/day. The outside walls/doors are a little thin and it is easy to hear noisy people in the walkways/stairways. Other than that, for the price it is very reasonable. The walk is probably close to 10 minutes but, you can cross at Disney Way and walk on the sidewalks that are part of Disney property - Not as congested as Harbor on the hotelside.

We stayed there in October and it wasn't bad. The walk was 10-15 minutes. The shower next door was loud as was the maid's cart, but it was fine otherwise. It was clean and the staff members I dealt with were pleasant enough. We'd stay there again if I couldn't get into one of the hotels by the crosswalk.

I will be staying there starting Thursday for 5 nights. My friend stayed there last June and really liked it. She said the rooms are really big and the patio on the first floor rooms is nice to have. The pool is enormous too! She said the walk is 10-15 minutes.

I will post all about it when I return!

Make sure you request rooms in the newer section--I'd say 300's and up. The 100's and 200's are rather small and older.

I stayed there in October with my bf and we thought it was pretty good for the price - it has a laundry room, a pool, a gift shop, an (outdated) arcade room, and it probably took us about 10 minutes to walk...there are some ok restaurants within walking distance or you can eat at the one in the hotel. I found the staff really friendly, they helped us find transportation (me and my bf are both 23 so it would have been harder to rent a vehicle) and answered all our questions...If you're thinking of going on any tours (we went to LA/Hollywood, etc.), there is a tour office next to the gift shop.

Wow...sounds like you received excellent service during your stay! I originally booked the AP for my August trip, but then cancelled it when I found great rates for the Hojo. Maybe next time...:scratchin

We will be staying there in July I shopped around and found the price and location to be just right for our budget.pirate:

Hi, I was just there this past weekend June 17-21 and the first night there was a loud fiesta type party in their hall. It was farther than what I expected, as indicated on the map it said it was just across the street from the main entrance. It was much farther than Desert Inn Suites, where we had stayed before. And parking was $4.00 a day with no shade to park in.
The distance is my main issue, so taking a midday nap meant a long walk back to the hotel. Every step seemed to matter on hot days this summer!
Sorry if it wasn't too encouraging, but it's my honest opinion and experience based on my circumstances- the heat, the infants and toddlers, the older people with us.
Good luck deciding!
Despite that, we still had an Awesome time at Disneyland!
I think that if it were only adults and older children, and on a budget though, this would be an excellent choice of stay. If I could retitle this post I would say, Didn't work well for me, but it may for you... I didn't mean to knock the Anaheim Plaza...Anyway, just had to make this edit...
