I've read recent threads from many that say this place "Anaheim Plaza" is a 60$ a night hotel.

I have checked and checked and can only get 89$ a night at best!

Am I at the right place? HOw is everyone getting such a good rate?

Probably during the holidays the rates are higher. I've seen the $59 rate, also, but usually not during the holidays.

I'm putting in for April 25-29...is 89$ a night an average spring rate?

Both times we've stayed at the Plaza for $60 a night, it was the price available on their website - maybe you should call them and ask - $89 for one of their rooms seems a little steep, unless it's a refurbed room :confused3

Oh - but not sure whether this makes a difference - isn't that the week right after Easter? Maybe prices are higher because of that? :confused3

Horrible hotel, I would not stay there for $90 a night. I would not pay more than $50 to stay there and that is being generous.

It's not a nice hotel...sorry! You'd do much better to stay at the Tropicana. I've never seen anything as low as $60, but it's right at the Maingate, has plentiful free parking and is very nice. Their online price is the best we've found. I echo what dmked says, and I wouldn't stay at the Plaza again, even if it was $60 per night.

my BF stayed at that hotel.and it was a nice room, he had a nice view of ToT. you rally can't beat the price. it was a quiet hotel, and pretty safe. the grounds were pretty. i would stay at the plaza again and again --i have seen other hotels near DLR and some of them looked very questionable.

you can always stay at the hojo and get the ent. rate an i think also they have a disboard rate.. but im not sure...

I couldn't agree more! I would never ay $90 for that place. Actually I would never stay there again!

ive looked @ it looks like its only 59 a night until the end of feb

While I would hardly call it luxurious, it has met our family's needs. We've stayed there twice and found the staff to be friendly and the rooms clean. And it is soooo close to Disneyland. We don't eat the buffet there but prefer to have breakfast in our room or at Disney itself. We don't spend much time in our room and prefer to spend the money saved on extra churros, ice cream, candy or whatever. We could afford to stay at the disneyland hotels but at that price I would feel guilty/anxiety for not staying on the hotel's grounds every single minute of everyday I was at DL hotel.

I just called the hotel and the pool is open. The only thing I really don't like about the hotel is that there isn't free WIFI (at least there wasn't when I was last there in Jan 2009).

The rooms are NOT horrible, it's not a terrible place to stay at all. My biggest complaint was the water temp. fluctuation, it would not stay a constant temp at all. lol That said I wouldn't pay $90 a night to stay there, I wouldn't pay more than $70 tops.
Try the HoJo, see if they the AP rate available.

Thanks for all you tips and info!! Love getting REAL opinions!!

Have you considered Alpine Inn?

I've never stayed at the Anaheim Plaza, but I would stay at Alpine again if I wanted an inexpensive but perfectly acceptable motel.

It might add another 5 minutes to your walk.

We stayed there last week at $89 a night. It was the cheapest we could find in the vicinity for the X-mas week at the last-minute and believe me, I searched.

We found it OK. I wouldn't say it is a horrible place. It is OK. Nothing special, very simple, but fine and decent. My husband had had foot surgery so we requested a room on the first floor, near the entrance. The staff was very helpful. They even called the Scooter Village nearby and checked the rates for electric wheel chairs for us. There is a restaurant in the hotel with a small breakfast buffet and we also found it OK.
