We are planning a trip to DLR for November, seeing hotels I found the Anaheim Plaza Hotel, in his site he says that it is a "Good Neighbor Hote", but on the Disney official site it does not appear. Do you recommend this hotel?.
We stayed there last October. Not to bad of a place, although it is nothing fancy. Nice big rooms, with a large bathroom and closet. Seemed to be fairly well maintained and it was a reasonable walking distance. I would stay there again, but I am one of those that only needs somewhere safe and clean to sleep. I didn't really check out the amenities other than the gift shop downstairs which was quite large!
Here are some pics:
The bathroom with a toilet and shower behind a separate door and there are double sinks to the right...
Standing at the front door looking into the room... (bathroom is to the direct right)
TV and desk...
The adjoining room door...
Fridge...
Looking out the window looking at the next building (same hotel)...
I wouldn't recommend it. We stayed there three times and the last time is the last ever! Their staff is horrible and the rooms are not clean! Just my opinion, I know, but I never recommend this place!
We stayed there last October for a weekend. it was fine, nothing fancy but we only paid $59 a nite so we didn't expect anything too fancy. The only issue we really had was the water temp was constantly changing on us when we showered, it would go from scalding to freezing and that sucked. LOL
Oh and I forgot, we actually checked in a day early, we used our reservation paperwork to check in but we used a different card to pay, well about a month later my cc had a charge for a 1 night stay at the AP hotel. I called the hotel, they checked my reservation/stay and credited my card within 2 days.
I am watching this thread for our upcoming stay. I couldn't turn down the $50 a night rate I found. The reviews for this hotel are all over the place. I would love any info about the internet connection they offer - it is important to us to have internet for DH's work. Thanks for the great pictures, jerneysgirl.
We stayed there once. Like others, I couldn't resist the $59 rate. We had a room on the bottom floor. The room was big and there was a good sized enclosed patio. The only real complaints I had were that the maid's cart was really loud on the concrete walkway out front every morning and the shower next door woke me up about every day.
Other than that, it was clean, big, comfortable enough and not too bad of a walk. They do charge for parking and the front desk staff, while pleasant enough with me, was fairly rude to another woman who walked up while I was there checking out.
There was even a Quincenera (sp?) there one night of our stay and we didn't hear them at all even though our room was fairly close to the lobby.
We'd stay there again if I couldn't get a good enough deal on one of the closer hotels.
Here's a couple of pics I took. First, looking into the room from the door ( bathroom is idrectly to the right.
We've stayed there several times when we couldn't get our usual hotel choices. It's not bad at all. Standard older budget motel with older furnishings, although it's kept really clean. I've always had kind staff members and never had to wait too long to check in or out. The rooms are very big and the bed decent. Some of the times I've had the water temp issues, but most of the time it wasn't a problem for us. The walk is about 5-7 minutes from the entrance, which is nice. They charge $4 for parking, but I think almost all the hotels are doing this now, unfortunately. On a positive, they have loads of parking, unlike other hotels on Harbor. If you're going in the summer, AP has an amazing pool. The thing is HUGE! Definitely a nice bonus on those long days when you need a break from the parks in the middle of the afternoon.
So although it's certainly not my first choice, I'd not hesitate to stay there again if I was looking for a cheap, fairly close place to sleep.
