We're going to DL! Our TA gave us quotes for the Anaheim Marriott and the Anaheim Hilton. With only a $50 difference, we are not sure which one to choose.

We are going to spend some downtime at the hotel, given that we are 2 families with small children. We would also want to lean towards the hotel with the better pool. One of us in the group is a fitness enthusiast and wants to go with the hotel with the better gym facilities.

Can anyone tell us their preferences, which is the better pool, which has the better fitness room, and other good/bad stuff about each hotel?

Thanks very much!

I prefer the Marriott myself. The pool is a combination indoor outdoor and I found the rooms quite comfortable.

Hi,
The Marroitt's pool is so nice for the kids. even it the weather isn't real warm they can still swim. We are staying there the first wek of Dec. So for us the weather could be an issuse. Alos a starbucks on site is a real plus.....we are all from Washington!! Latte's are a must.
have a nice day,
Carla

The Marriott is very nice, but the Hilton has better fitness facilities. The Hilton has an outdoor pool, but it is very nice. There are several hot tubs around the large pool and a grill to buy food. The Hilton's standard rooms w/two beds are also slightly larger than the Marriott. You can walk across to the Timon parking lot and take the tram into the DLR w/both hotels, and both also offer shuttles. We've stayed at both hotels and enjoyed both. The Hilton is like a city inside-it's very large! May I ask why just these 2 hotels? You said you were quoted on just these? There are also many other great hotels in the area.

We were quoted other hotels, but we narrowed down our choices to the Hilton and Marriott. They seemed to be the best given what we've seen when were there.

If you think there are better hotels than these two, we'd be interested in hearing about them. Thanks.

I was just wondering why those two! There are other great hotels, but I'm not going to say better necessarily, just the same class! I've stayed at the Hyatt Regency, which is one of our favorites. They have a fitness center, tennis courts & 2 pools. I haven't been to the rooftop pool, but the one on the main floor is very nice, with trees, etc. and table & chairs. We like to get the kids suite when we go to the Hyatt. It's a 2 room suite with bunk beds, kids table & chairs and their own TV. The hotel is down Harbor about a mile, but they have a shuttle. We also like the Marriott Suites, which is across the street from the Hyatt. The pool was large and nice, but nothing fancy. They also have a fitness center. All the rooms are 2 room suites. They also have a shuttle. If the fitness room is your deciding factor, I'd probably go w/the Hilton, although I would check w/the hotel for any extra fees for using it. I am not kidding when I say that the Hilton is like a city inside and they literally have a full gym in there, with sauna's, tanning, etc... The pools at the Hilton, Hyatt & Marriott are all comparable, over the Marriott Suites. If you prefer the larger rooms, the Hyatt would be a good choice. You can check out all the hotels online. I know the Hilton has a full view of the pool. The Hilton is gorgeous in the lobby, too-really neat fountain. We liked to get sandwiches and relax down there! They also have rooftop garden areas where you can relax or let the kids run loose! I hope this doesn't make it tougher for you!

Thanks, JenCav5!

We have actually stayed at the Hyatt in a kidsuite. You are right about how nice it is there. But it is nice only if you get the upgrade. My parents who stayed in the older tower in a standard room had a pretty worn and weary room.

I think we're going to go with the Hilton this time. It looks like it has all the facilities we need. We're going in March, and the months seem to be crawling so slow for us! Can't wait!!!
