Anaheim Hilton

Will be staying at the Anaheim Hilton next year for a conference. Does anyone have any information? Is it kid friendly? Thanks for any info you have

Anaheim Hilton caters more to business and convention center travelers. It is just as kid friendly as any regular hotel. Don't expect the kid friendliness of a Disneyland onsite hotel.

It has a nice looking lobby, but rooms are about average. Room are decent and clean. Some people associate the Hilton name with luxurious accomodations. Don't expect luxury at this hotel. The standards rooms are...well...very standard, very average.

Side note: Hilton is a HUUUGGGE hotel. It's a behemoth. Walking from elevator to your room can feel like a labyrinth.

Was just there for 1 week in August for a convention. Sooooo...there were a few days where we were tourists and the rest of the week we were sort of confined to the hotel and convention centre. (Although, there were some nights we snuck back to Downtown Disney to get some Disney mojo going...)

As luckcooky says, the hotel is huge. Our room was very far from the elevator.

If you play your cards right though, you never know and you may end up with a room with a nice view of DL. If that happens, you'll have a nice view of the fireworks.

There's a Starbucks in there to rev you up in the morning. We ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant a few mornings (when we weren't going to the park or having a character breakfast at one of the Disney hotels). Standard hotel breakfast or breakfast buffet (it has miso soup though!) at standard hotel prices.

Rooms were clean and quite sizable. What I really liked was a power bar they attached to the desk. I could plug in all kinds of things to recharge.

We ate a lot of room service for very late dinners. We'd come back from the park hungry. We timed things wrong and had late lunches and couldn't eat dinner in the park. We'd get back to the hotel around 11 pm and would order room service. The food was great, the prices were ok and the service was great (arrived in about 15 minutes).

It's as kid friendly as any other Hilton. It's not geared to kids. There's a pool if they like to swim. You'll probably need to use the ART buses to get to and from the park. It's not too bad...we found them convenient.

I stayed there in January for two nights and was very pleased with my stay. The room was clean, spacious, and bright with a comfortable bed. I would gladly stay there again.


The Anaheim Hilton is a convention hotel, but there were a lot of Disneyland visitors staying there as well. It's a 15 minute walk to Disneyland and the ART stops in front of the hotel. If you plan to use ART, be sure to look into passes. They can be purchased from machines adjacent to the concierge desk and can save you money.

We stayed there a few years ago with our two kids, at the time ages of 4 and 6 months, and we were very comfortable there. The rooms were nice and cheerfully decorated. For some reason I don't recall it being HUGE or a long walk to our room from the elevator, but maybe we just got lucky with being assigned a room more conveniently located.

Our room had the BEST view of California Adventure park and the fireworks! We watched the fireworks from our room every night that we were there (of course this was back in the good ole days when they had NIGHTLY fireworks).

We also ordered room service several times, and I agree with the previous poster who said that the food was great and the service was fast.

The pool deck is very nice, and if I recall correctly, I think there's also 4 hot tubs around the pool. Anyway, it's a nice area and also quite cheerful.

The only downside to the Hilton is that it's a good 15 minute walk to the parks, which isn't too bad in the morning, but in the evening when your feet feel like they've already walked 20 miles that day, well lets just say it's a LONG WAY! Especially with kids. Take a cab or the ART transportation.
