Which one is closer to the entrance to DL? The rate is the same at both so we are looking for whichever one is less walking. Thanks!

FFI is closer. Most that stay at the Hilton either use ART to get to the parks. FFI is right across the street from the entrance.

These are the two we usually choose from also since we're Hilton Honors members. If we stay at the Hilton we either walk to DL or walk across the street to the Toy Story lot to take the shuttle. It's really not that far to walk, but after being in the park all day the shuttle is a bit of a break on your feet. The Fairfield is closer and perfectly fine for a place to sleep. The Hilton is nice if you have some extra time for Starbucks, the restaurant/bar area, pool, etc.

Just curious why Fairfield Inn if you're a HHonors member? I thought Fairfield Inn was a Marriott chain.

I would point out that the Hilton is a nicer hotel in almost every way. It's just a different class of hotel. FFI was designed as a limited-service budget hotel chain with lower prices. Hilton is going for the business traveler with full-service including restaurants, bars, bell service, room service, meeting rooms (there were several on our floor), etc. However, I'm guessing FFI probably has free breakfast, free WiFi, and is cheaper (or free) for parking and of course the location needs to be considered. The Hilton was deliberately built next to the Anaheim Convention Center to primarily serve convention business. Often the Hilton will cost about the same when it's prime season for DL visitors but low season for convention visitors.

The Hilton does charge for WiFi, but I noticed that the free AT&T WiFi from the Starbucks in the lobby reached all the way to the top floor. And to be clear, SB has stated that they make their free WiFi available to anyone, customer or not, as a gesture of goodwill

No free breakfast @ FFI. There is a parking fee, but I think I remember getting the wifi for free. Yes! It is a Marriott hotel. Maybe PP was confusing FFI with Embassy Suites...we stay there with Hilton Honor points

I've stayed at one before, and it's been my understanding that the majority of locations have free breakfast and coffee. The thing that all locations with free breakfast touts is the Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwich. At the one I visited, the breakfast room was absolutely packed at 9:30 in the morning.

The one thing I wished is that there could be one in Fairfield, California. I just think it would be cool.

Fairfield Inn is closer and their is a Mc Donalds sitting in front of it. Great for grabbing your breakfast and eating it on the way to the park.

If I were going again, honestly I'd probably take the Hilton regardless of the distance. They've got awesome in-room coffee (Lavazza) and Peter Thomas Roth toiletries. The biggest thing for my wife would be that the Hilton has central heating and A/C. She has a hard time sleeping with the fan noise from a wall-mounted heating and A/C unit.

And I'm ticked off at that McDonald's. They don't have a Dollar Menu, although their regular menu is pretty standard priced. I drove to another one just a mile away while looking for gas, and they had big signs outside touting that they did have the Dollar Menu.

I love both hotels! FFI is nice because of the distance but if I got to choose for the same price I would go to the Hilton! the beds are to die for comfy!

We just got back from the Hilton on 1/5 and can't say enough about this hotel. We loved the rooms, and especially the people. Very accommodating when we asked about late check out and they even did a special thing for our daughter's birthday.

We will definitely be back!

Not confused. We have Marriott rewards also, but our Hilton ones definitely get more benefits and more use. We've been pretty disappointed with Marriott properties in general over the last few years.
