Anaheim Fairfield

I will be traveling with my 11 & 9 year old girls in July, is this hotel nice and also can we walk to Disneyland from here? Thanks for your help!

We stayed here in April 2012. Rooms were very clean and the walk to DLR was easy...about 5-8 minutes. Even though the hotel has outside corridors, we didn't have any problem with noise..and we were on the botom floor. The hotel staff was extremely helpful too.

We stayed there in april. We're pretty Marriott loyal. The hotel was fine, clean and an easy 5(?) minute walk to Disney. The McDonalds just outside was nice for a morning coffee. You can also walk down to Gardenwalk in about 15 min if you want a variety of dining.

Our only complaint was the noise. The concrete hallways made us hear everyone walking, running, or pulling suitcase. If I did it again I would ask for a top floor facing on the backside of building (we could hear pool noise until it closed).

Oh and unlike other fairfields, no free breakfast at this one.

You'll be fine there. As others have mentioned its an easy 8-10 walk with pedestrian traffic. Inside is a Pizza Hut express and sandwich shop. McDonalds, Mimi's and Millies are just outside the hotel front parking lot. The pool is very small and the hot tub even smaller. Rooms are clean and adequate. From floors up above (open corridors) you can see somewhat into Disneyland on the side that faces Harbor Blvd..

Have a great time! We are staying there again this June/July. We couldn't afford the full price tag of the onsite resort hotels this go around.

Depends on the definition of "nice" ... I like it better than Hojo next door, but it does cost more and you have to pay for parking. For the walking-distance hotels on Harbor it's not bad, but is still more of a nice "motel" than an actual "hotel" IMO. But that pretty much goes for all the properties on Harbor.

I travel a lot for work so it's easy to stay here because I can use Marriott points. If I had to pay every time and cared about value, I'd probably give the nod to Hojo, but for better accommodations and cost notwithstanding, I'd go with the FFI. It's an easy walk to DLR from FFI so no problems there (in fact if you weren't walking then the recently renovated Residence Inn in La Mirada/Buena Park and the Anaheim Marriott Suites in Garden Grove are both nicer Marriott properties than FFI).

We liked it. We head no noise - from other rooms or outside the door. I am a light sleeper and had no problems. The walk was very easy.

We really enjoyed it! The hotel is pretty nice, even though the halls to the rooms are outside. We got a pretty good view of the fireworks as well, and we were only on the fourth floor. The walk is great, usually took us less than 10 minutes. The only problem we had was they gave us connecting rooms, so every new family that came through would knock on the connecting door, and we could hear their conversations LOUD AND CLEAR, but only from their room.
But yeah, other than that it was perfect.

We are book here for October. Read the reviews and they seemed pretty decent... not 4*, but also not paying the high price.
Let me know what you thought of the hotel when you get back. Could use some insider info before we head down.

There is a girl in my neighborhood who just returned from their annual Disneyland trip, and they always stay here. We are going to Disneyland in October, and with her recommendation in mind, I checked out the hotel on Trip Advisor. There were lots of pictures with the reviews which will give you a better idea of the property. (There are also tons of reviews for other hotels in the vicinity. I spent a few hours reading through them yesterday in an effort to pick a hotel for our trip.) Here's a link to the Fairfield. Hope this helps!

I reviewed this hotel on Tripadvisor after a visit a few months ago. It's decent, clean and close to the parks---easy walking distance! I just hate paying a daily parking fee and the lack of a free breakfast like most Residence Inns. But other than that it's a good value for the room rate.

We love the FFI. We will be staying there again for our July/Aug. trip. We feel like its one of the better choices on Harbor. The walk is super easy, I have never felt unsafe ( and I sometimes go back to the room with DD5 asleep in the stroller while Dbf stays to close the park). During busy seasons there is always someone else walking back to their hotel on Harbor along side you, so that is nice as well. I think the rooms are clean and about 3 star. I do hate that the bathrooms are tiny, but the sink area is outside the bathroom so that is a big help. Other than the bathrooms, I have no complaints about this hotel. Would be nice if they didn't charge for parking, but most hotels do these days.

I looked at reviews and compared packages for a week, with the Fairfield coming out on top in all. I booked through Costco Travel with a price of $1503 for 4 people, 4 nights and 4 day hopper passes, plus I booked 2 other rooms for family members. The Costco booking agent was great and he was also surprised that the Fairfield was coming in with a price better than many of the smaller and sometimes questionable motels. After I booked I called the Fairfield directly and was told that there will be no parking fee or resort fee added when booking through AAA or Costco since they book with Walt Disney Travel. Some sort of breakfast would be a bonus, but remember, it is not really free. There are plenty of cheap and fast options between the hotel and the parks Good luck!

I'll be staying there for the 3rd time at the end of the month.

Don't have much to add except that the staff there has been great to us, however the outside hallways do allow a lot of outside noise to come in.

I have stayed here and my opinion (although maybe geared towards folks w/kids) is that for $20 - 50 cheaper per night (depending on the date) I would stay at the Embassy or Homewood. That is also in a one bedroom suite and free made to order breakfast, nightly (Mon - Fri) free drinks and snacks, etc. Way more worth it. But again, I'm talking about a family with DD7 and DS9 and will not stay in one room anymore. Just my preference.
The value and quality of the Garden Grove hotels is way more superior than the convenience of across the street.
JMO but I prefer a great hotel, not just acceptable because of location.

I just booked the same package through Costco yesterday for July 28- Aug. 1 for a family of 3 instead of 4. But I thought the rates were great too,especially considering that you get the free premium character dining meal. Thanks for sharing about the free parking, I had no idea they would allow that since I usually book directly with the hotel. Good to know!!

Thanks for starting this thread! We're staying there in a few weeks thanks to a great rate (under $125/night) through Last Minute Travel. It was one of their secret hotels but I could tell it was the Fairfield due to the photos on the listing. Since our DL trip is just my DS and I, walking distance to the parks was a key factor - plus all the cheap dining options right next door. Hoping it's a good choice!
