Looking to stay here for 2 nights. dont need anything fancy just a clean safe place to stay and walking distance to the parks. Would like feedback from anyone who has stayed here.

Thanks
John

We've stayed there twice but it's been a couple of years ago. The rooms were clean but nothing fancy. The pool is an indoor pool and it gets all steamy, but it wasn't dirty or anything. The breakfast is pretty basic - apples or oranges and bread, can't remember if they have anything to drink.

We really liked it because it is so close and we hardly spend any time in the room so why pay more if you're not around to enjoy it?

This is our second choice hotel for when we can't get a better rate at HOJO. The front desk staff has always been pleasant and helpful. Our room has always been clean and quiet. The one exception was children playing in the atrium kind of area in the back one morning. We've never used their pool or their breakfast. There's a fridge and a microwave in the rooms and since we drive, we bring our own food.

We took these in May of 07. This is the Deluxe Room (their standard) with 2 queens.

I agree with the previous posts. Clean, safe, simple, directly across the street. I have stayed here probably 5 times in the last 10 years (most recent in April '08) and we have never had a problem. Nothing fancy, but when the price is right, it is great, and the short walk is wonderful especially with little ones.

We stayed here in November 2008 and had a pleasant visit. They were the only hotel to garauntee us adjoining rooms. They called it a "suite" but the price for the 2 rooms was awesome. We did not use the breakfast either. It started too late when we had MM entry days. The walk was definatley easy. We had groceries delivered and an ECV for DMIL AND a stroller UPSed. The front desk could not have been more accomodating

I agree with everyone else. :) We've stayed 6 times with our last trip being 2 weeks ago. Never had any complaints. Rooms are always clean and you can't do much better for the walk.

We just stayed there last week and I agree with the others. We didn't use the pool so I can't comment on that. The breakfast was toast, danishes, cherios, corn flakes, milk, coffee and OJ. The rooms were clean and relatively quiet with softer beds than I expected for the price. You can't beat the location, it was less than 5 minutes to the bag check area. We booked about 5 months in advance and got a parlor suite (2 beds and a living room) for $79/night. Parking is free and they charge you a $2/day "resort fee". If we ever make the trip to DL again, maybe in another 2-3 years, we'll try to stay there again.

Thanks for the photos and reviews. We'll be going to DLR for the first time at Thanksgiving and I choose the Desert Inn after looking at all the walking distance motels. We are also getting a Parlor A suite. What finally made me decide was the close walking distance (we will not have a car), the free continental breakfast, the free WIFI, the indoor pool and that we could get a "suite" for a pretty cheap price.

Thanks everyone, you all gave me a great answers. Yes all I care about is Safe, Clean, economical, and close. sounds like we have it all. We are also driving and will be bring some food. I am adding this little trip to DL on top of a bigger trip so not looking to break the bank and I want to see the xmas lights.

Thanks again

John

We just stayed at the Desert Inn last week and had a GREAT time. We booked about 4 months ahead of time through Expedia and got a rate of $69/night. When we arrived we were informed that we had been given an upgrade to a parlor suite. We were on the fourth floor and had theme park views of California Adventure through our front windows and of Disneyland through our back window. We were even able to watch the fireworks from our window. The beds were super comfortable (I like a really firm matress). In fact, I usually have back aches sleeping in my bed at home but I had none for our whole trip.

The walk to the parks was really short. 5 minutes through the esplanade.

We didn't use the pool, so I have no comment about it. The breakfast was as reported earlier. We ate it every morning and were full until lunchtime.

They have free wifi connection, just ask for the password at the front desk.

I will definitely try to stay at the Desert Inn & Suites the next time we go to Disneyland.
